Great game in windy conditions at Toorak Park yesterday, Prahran just kept coming and they will be there at the pointy end of the season.
On the food and drink side, another club with shit Boags, but food wise the Dimmies are the best so far.
Bedford looks like Chis enjoyed the journey to Prahran.. Don't worry about the Boags you cant taste the difference after the first one, just hold your nose whilst consuming the initial one... Fried or steamed dimmies at Toorak park?

Boags is shit and aren't the Ammo's CUB now, should have a choice and the Dimmies were steamed.

Sounds like the deal that Prahran have is exclusive with Boags, probably cannot sell any other beer. At least the dimmies were good.

I am tipping that most away rooms are not that flash - Ormonds have never been great either.

Not a fan of the Toorak Park visitors set up of the past 10+ years, but the surface itself is light years ahead (and that's what really matters to me). Pretty sure every time we played Xavs up until 2002, we used the change rooms under the main grandstand. Then it became those ones near the cricket nets (which should be condemned). Same occurred when we played Prahran.

Still, whilst it has been a few years now, I still have vague recollections of getting changed in a veritable "phone box" at E.E. Gunn, stumbling over sports bags, nestled under the ruckman' armpit with disused gym equipment nearby. Rub down table however was clearly awesome, but being a finely tuned athlete at the time, I had little need to partake of its delights.

Can't say it impacted on the way I/we played. Pretty much got nailed by the home side every time I think.

Les says:
When "we" do it we call it banter.
When "they" do it we call them feral.
Sadly old fashioned "banter" appears to have been replaced by ugly abuse far too often these days. I was at the SMS V NOBS game a few weeks ago and the abuse from the visitors coaches box towards the umpires was nothing short of shameful. There was a NOBS "stats man" sitting on the hill behind the visitors coaching box who screamed out "you f***ing d***head" every time the umpire blew his whistle in the second half, this in a public park with a kids playground nearby.
Clever banter has always been a footy tradition, but player and umpire abuse is not warranted and sadly results in retaliation and, as we saw in another competition on the weekend violence with an extremely unfortunate and sad result.

The dimmies were shithouse and they weren't serving coffee.

The ground surface was in the best condition I've seen in yonks. Not before time though.

Toughen up Prncess.:)

The rooms were ordinary. While better now the building could do with a major reno. Seems the Council is more than happy to splash funds at other locations but little at Gunn.

The SMS visitors rooms are very good and provide a table, Ormond actually have 2 , but not massive away rooms. AM, must have got the Dimmies at the wrong time
Half time Bedders. You had probably scoffed all best ones by then.:D

Wasn't the umpire rooms at EE Gunn basically a broom cupboard under the stairs? I was only there once, for my very first appointed game, and about the only things I remember clearly was St Bedes U19s beating Ormond by a point, me waving a point on the wrong side of the goalpost, and feeling that if all games were going to be this good I'd love this umpiring lark.

Ajax rooms pre-GP upgrades at Albert Park (1994). Cold "popcorn" textured mustard concrete. Trickle showers. Blocked plumbing in single bog. Thought I was half a chance of getting molested.

A bit bigger than a broom cupboard otp, not many umps rooms are any bigger than ours.
Great to get a memo today about interchange stewards and timekeepers, why don't they explain why the website is so shite
Geez Bedders! Don't tell me the umps still use that God forsaken hole under the grandstand. You hit your head on the underside of the grandstand steps unless you crouched in parts.
