I'd bid pick one on Sproule though, I think he is THAT good.
Don't mind Mutch either, have to agree with Sanderson on that one.

Yeah Sproule was really good in that game. Got NR writen all over him.

Perryman was really good too. Class.

Nick Larkey has the athleticism, ground level ability and height that is intriguing. Ridley was very good in defense.

Taranto was good even if he was a bit off some really smart tap ons and assists. As I said above Duman reminded me of Macrae in the first quarter and a bit.

Venables is a top 10 pick.

Not that I doubt he could go top 10 & maybe he has a big last quarter but I haven't seen Venables show me anything that blew my mind yet

He is not 100% yet has had injuries hold him up quite a bit.

AFL clubs like players who stand up to win their teams games. Venables has done this multiple times in the champs now.

Just watched the Replay of the SA V Country game. Really liked some of the smalls on both sides, Stengle was superb really hard to corral and damaged Country, Fowler could have kicked 4 with a bit more luck and was seemingly always in the right spots for the crumbs. Ratugolea needs to work on his disposal but it is good to see him give second and third efforts, got a good jump and hits the ball hard on the lead. Thought Sharenberg and Graham where really good. Graham needs to work on his disposal a bit but showed some real explosiveness out of the packs a few times and is an absolute bull reminds me of Libba the way he kept on throwing hinself at the footy. Sharenberg is a tad slow but he has good smarts and his disposal is quite good. There was a kid who was intercept marking on the Half back line for SA that I thought was really good, left footer can remember his name though.

Berry was non existent again. Battle was better but still don't think he looks top 10 talent wise unless someone reaches.

Reece Piper was really important with his runs from defense. Has a good 55-60m peg in him too. Ladhams was okay in the ruck duel but is very good below his knees for his size and I liked seeing his second efforts.
I think Stengle is the guy who I said I liked the look of from one of those SANFL rising star videos? If so then I think he is very draftable as a small forward who is classy and can work up the ground a bit. Very clean player. Watched the Metro game, usual suspects all doing well but was pleased to see bottom ager Hayes play well up forward. Already kind of versatile, mobile and even nailed a torp off one step so he is quite skilled too. Seeing the start of the Country game and once again super impressed by the work of Worpel around the stoppages. Plenty of energy in those situations, knows how to force his opponent into the stoppage so he can win the ball himself and has decent skills too. Looks a natural footballer. Liking the work of Piper also. For metro, Larkey looked a lot better down back and as a swingman he skyrockets up the draft order.

This?

And he is one of mine now too. Very hard to tackle and is classy.

The thing to like about Venables is his power/speed combination, as well as his ability to play midfield and forward. A lot of his inside work being able to stand up and fight through tackles and still get off a decent handball or disposal into space is what is really impressive. He then gets forward and has an impact, plus as Wizard has said he steps up in important moments. I think he is top ten potential for sure.

One thing that I do like about him is that he has power through the hips, he is aggressive & can bob up for a goal but he is a bit scrappy when disposing of the ball & he can disappear for a while (a few players have this issue to btw.)

Yeah, that sort of class is what I would like more of in the dogs forward half. Had a direct involvement in a number of scores in that first quarter yesterday and seems to be involved often enough for my liking. One of the better small fwd prospects imo.

Larkey was good up forward imo he just wasn't accurate in his set shots. Good to see he can play down back though and in the ruck too as I have said above if we can get him late and turn him into a Justin Westoff like player who can play from CHF, can back up ruck and play loose in defense when needed...

He attacked the ball well coming out of the backline at times as well. I noticed Nelson Lane played for Metro, tried to give plenty of dash but got caught a few times. I wonder if he will get picked up in the rookie draft.

The way he slips through tackles caught my eye too. He got into a few spots where you think 2-3 players are going to crunch him and he just slips past them. Freaky.

I like players that can get a quality disposal or put the ball in a dangerous spot under pressure/without having to really look. Caleb has this ability, I saw from Stengle similar ability. It's what makes Rioli so effective at Hawthorn.

South Australia
got the jump on Vic Country early, and held on easily enough. Country fought back well, but left their run too late. SA won 11.10-76 to Country's 9.11-65.

Captain Jack Graham burst through more packs and won plenty of contested possession, as he does. His 25 disposals included nine clearances, he laid seven tackles and he leads the team in the way he attacks the ball on the ground. He thumped a few kicks without looking but generally used it pretty well.

Jonty Scharenberg did some good things without a whole lot of room to move in. His instinct at stoppages is to focus where the ball is, so opponents can get away from him but he wins plenty of possessions and his tally of four showed a willingness to try to get the ball back if he didn't get to it first.

Tyson Stengle is small (171cm) but playing as a small forward wasn't afraid to jump for the ball and get his arms up in the air. Quick, creative, innovative and classy. He did some nice things.

Kym Lebois is another small forward with a bit to offer in terms of anticipation, game sense and goal sense.

Jake Pitman did good things with the ball on the outside, and went after it when he was his turn. Seemed to enjoy laying a tackle (he finished with 14) and played a pretty balanced game.

Adelaide fans (and Hawthorn for that matter) would have been excited by Ben Jarman's timing, work ethic, game sense and class. He kicked three good first-half goals.

Will Hayward didn't get a heap of the ball, but as a mid-sized forward again showed an ability to catch opponents unawares with unpredictable way he moved, and set up shots as a result.

Defender Mitch Hinge's opponents can sneak away from him at times, but his kicking from defence again helped his team find some room to move.

Peter Ladhams snapped a really nice goal which would have caught some attention, with how quickly he got the ball to his foot. He had a good battle with Country ruckman Sean Darcy, and when he wants to use it has a real leap on him.

Country midfielder Hugh McCluggage is right in the mix for pick one and played well again. He can get the ball, he can run hard to receive it, he uses it with precision and he kicks goals. He kicked three goals to go with his 17 disposals.

Will Brodie will be up there, too. He had a quieter day than in the first two rounds but still did lots of really hard work around the ball, doing his best to keep his team in it.

Ben Ainsworth will be another high pick. He played forward and had a bit of a run on-ball as well. His kicking - both in the field and for goal - is a lovely thing to watch. He's really smart, he knows how to lose opponents, he brings teammates into play and is able to make the game revolve around him at times.

Joe Atley was strong around the ball, laying six tackles tackles for the day, using his hands more than his feet to try and get teammates moving.

Tyrone Hayes made things tough for Stengle when he went and played in defence on him. Fought for the ball one-on-one and generated a bit of rebound.

Esava Ratugolea was called up after kicking eight goals in the TAC Cup last week. He's one to keep watching; athletic, high-leaping, energetic and keen to get involved.

Reece Piper gave the team a bit of run from defence in the second half He finished up with 12 possessions, including four rebound 50s.

Forward Josh Battle looked best on the lead when able to get a step or two away from his opponent. Can mark the ball at pace, and he kicked well for goal.

Vic Metro started well, then had some trouble, then had some trouble. The Allies played clearly their best footy of the championships so far and led at three-quarter-time, before Metro finished off well to win 10.14-74 to 8.12-60.

Andrew McGrath takes the game on with confidence and a come-and-get-me attitude. He had a bit more time on the ball than he has in the first two rounds. Gets his team going over and over again. He finished with 24 disposals and six clearances.

Midfielder Jordan Galluci has covers ground, has a nice leap, has good sideways movement and kicks the ball beautifully much of the time.

Key forward Patrick Kerr hit the ball hard on the lead. He was an important player but found space harder to find late. It was hard to judge how he goes when it hits the ground as he didn't let it. Kicked two early goals on a good opponent in Ryan Garthwaite but struggled to get into things when the ball wasn't being directed his way.

Sam Hayes is a very tall, very skinny bottom-aged ruckman-forward who demanded the ball on the lead. He held onto a couple of big marks and is one to watch next year.

Daniel Venables will win his teammates at an AFL club over quickly. He goes aggressively after the ball or whoever has it. He's physical, loves to tackle (he laid seven for the game) and keeps his feet when grabbed.

It should come as no surprise that Josh Daicos has nice foot skills. Found teammates with some nicely timed passes. Nailed a final term set shot.

Defender Nelson Lane attacked the match too. Ran hard and fast, took plenty of bounces and drove the ball forward.

The bottom-aged Jack Higgins looked like he was having fun out there. Was creative, inventive and busy, finishing with 21 possessions, two inside 50s and two rebound 50s.

Corey Lyons was one of several very busy midfielders for Metro, snapping a nice third quarter goal where he moved to both sides before finding room to get his pressured kick away.

Luke Bunker has been a relible player for Metro right through the carnival, can kick the ball long, is industrious around the ball and predictable to his teammates. He had five inside-50s to go with his 15 possessions.

Callum Brown is a terrier, who plays with courage and invigorates the players around him with his honesty and intensity when the ball's up for grabs.

Gold Coast-bound Jack Bowes had his most influential match for the Allies. Found the ball, found a bit of space, marked overhead and kicked with class. He had seven inside-50s from 20 possessions and was very good

Harry Perryman can be trusted in most parts of the ground. Predicts play, gets to good spots, keeps calm and uses the ball as reliably as anyone.

Tall forward Todd Marshall again showed some very exciting glimpses of what he can do: a nice low gather, a clever pass, an off-balance snap. He's very nimble and moves at times like a much smaller player.

Charlie Spargo plays with some energy and verve. A small forward, he'll be in next year's draft. He laid six tackles and was able to keep the ball alive.

Forward Zac Sproule looked a bit more comfortable with the pace of the game. Moved around, made his opponent work, laid a big tackle that set up a shot on goal. Kicked 2.1 for the game.

Ryan Garthwaite didn't get too perturbed by the good early form of his opponents. He sought out the ball, wanted it in his hands and was able to get it out of trouble a few times.

Defender Jamie Hampton can be fun to watch. Wants to run, wants to attack and needs to find some balance, but has a real burst of pace and likes a goal.

Will Setterfield is very hard to budge around the ball. He can get the ball away as he's being tackled and won a couple of free kicks for laying strong tackles too.

Kerr is a key forward?
Atley is someone that we haven't really talked about much, I like him to. Galluci on second viewing was great, kicks some perfectly weighted kicks & is smart when delivering it inside 50

Yes

He is 194cm. Needs to improve his lateral movements and getting more of the footy but is quick on the lead and has very strong hands. Technically good kick too but has some problems in front of the goals atm. He is a late 2nd - Mid 3rd rounder.

Yeah. I just did a Google search & read his article in the Age.

Its going to be interesting if we keep our first, I think we could use another first or early second in this draft because there will be plenty of sliders/bolters & just great combinations. How we do that, I don't know.

I wish I got to see Frank play in this Allies squad. Would have been interesting to see how he performed in a stronger team

Liked Ratugolea. Interested to see him play the next game.

Also even though he is raw as and would be a rookie at best Tony Olango showed some really impressive signs.
Forward version of Nic Nat?? He took a few forward hitouts too. Loved his intensity. Raw but with work he could be dangerous. At the very least he is an athletic tall who will crash packs and heap on forward pressure. Very draftable.

Could be a decent late pick. That is if he doesn't go nuts in the TAC after the champs in which case he will bolt quickly.
