Also has a very good workrate off the field which is something that you like to see in young players.

I'd say Venables, he's not a midfielder yet but has the scope to rotate through there and half forward.

Interstate clubs apparently not taking Florent by request because his dad died recently, so if North don't take him at 11 he should be there for us.

Yeah, that's what it would seem. I don't particularly like him for one of the Dogs picks, so I'd be very happy if North reached for him. Seems like their kind of pick.

I still haven't been able to watch his highlights to see what the fuss is about

I'm still crossing my fingers Venables gets to our pick so we can at least consider him, the draft is so near but feels so far away..

In a phantom on the main board I got Will Hayward with our first (Florent and English were still available) and with our second I went Maibaum over Rotham.

I think Romensky would suit us well late in the draft good back up for our big inside midfield bulls considering Stevens is no longer around.

I'd be happy with at least one Western Jet
I did not like Dundons highlights at all either..

But Florent dosn't seem to have any real attributes that set him apart.
Looks a little outside to me and only a so so kick.
Like Venables , seem 4 1/2 minutes of him , but like his intensity at the contest.
Can see him in a Bulldog jumper

I was interested in your thoughts because I felt a bit indifferent about Florent
I took time to warm to Venables but I can see him becoming a future burst midfielder that can start his career up forward, long term replacement for Dickson or Crameri at worst possibly?
I'm a fan of Berry as well, his highlights pack don't really show his defensive acts at all which I believe is something players struggle the most with when going to an AFL club (or I'm over thinking it..)
Scrimshaw was my man all year but I think he'll be well gone by our pick..

I was having this debate with Dally. We were talking about Bont's year and how we were lucky to get him - Scharenberg and Aish were the others we would have taken (Bullet. Dodged.) - but how many top 5 draft picks who are almost purely outside players, have succeeded. I only named Whitfield as one who had done well but I couldn't think of another?

We also agreed that Brad Hill will be an interesting case as a purely outside player reliant on others to bring him into the game, how will he go in a different system?
