2016 Norm Smith Medal

Why is this different to normal?

Would be the most obscure play it to win it every by panels!

Different final, not too many established players, bar Bontempelli/Kennedy and they are rock bottom odds.

Parker is relatively newish, only been this year where he has done well in the Brownlow, Hannerberry the same (although he did okay last year). Not as if sides have Hawthorn players who are loved.

I usually don't bet much on the Norm Smith, it always ends one way- usually worse than backing a donkey at Sha Tin!

You're probably better taking Papley top goal scorer, or to score >3-4 goals.

Hard to see him being in the conversation if that doesn't happen

Taken a few 1st goal scorer/norm smith doubles.
Small bets but some big odds.
Papley into Macrae paying $391 is the best.

Hannebery is an established grand final performer, let alone an established player.

last 3 times they have played hannebry has had 37, 33, 29 disposals
franklin has kicked 3, 5, 6 goals
and parker has had good disposals and kicked goals and out of the 3 last games in 2 of them he got the 3 and 2 brownlow votes

food for thought

JJ and dogs to win 1-39 is about 50-1, and 40+ is 80-1. I'll have a 10er on those.

23-1 on crown just to win it. Bloody good odds.

I doubt JJ will have the space today to rack them up.

I like Buddy, Heeney or Clay

Invariably the winner needs to kick a few goals to win it

I'm on Buddy and Heeney.

Interestingly, only 2 players have won it this century having played less than 100 games on the day (Judd 05 with 92 games and Johnson 07 with 87 games).

Back in the day Harmes (42 games), Rioli (21), Robertson (65), Duckworth (55), Dear (60), Matera (54), McLeod (60 and 79) and Archer (96 - but he was an experienced solid body by this game anyway) did win it being relatively inexperienced.

But this century has been Hird (130), Hart (205), Buckley (204), Black (126), Pickett (160), Embley (132), Hodge (132), Chapman (175), Hayes (238), Pendlebury (102), Bartel (205), O'Keefe (257), Lake (218), Hodge (250) and Rioli (157) have all been very inexperienced.

I just like Heeney hence why I'm on him him but the trend is certainly in experienced players. Same for those who have played 8+ finals (only Judd, Buckley and Hodge this century). I guess this more than likely is applicable for a Sydney win - although I guess Matty Boyd fits the 'criteria'.

Absolute blinder JK is having. Hope JJ can snag a cuppla goals or have some surging runs.

CARN the Doggies!!!

Great call. Well done!
thanks mate! Bloody stoked when he got the nod. I thought if that ball wasn't touched on the line they were going to give it to him. But after it was called touched and Boyd got another goal which was the back breaker I thought he'd snag it. JJ was great but not efficient with his disposal.

Parker FG and JJ NS was 400-1

I doubt JJ will have the space today to rack them up.
