I hope Caitlyn stays, too. She's a good hard-at-it player and a strong runner.i am hoping Caitlyn edwards stays, otherwise maybe to freo for pick 10
Not a player move, but Harmit Singh our women's backline coach and club's community engagement manager moved to Essendon a few weeks back.
Great news! Caitlyn Edwards has re-signed and will be at Collingwood in 2018.I hope Caitlyn stays, too. She's a good hard-at-it player and a strong runner.
We should have gone for Harris. I think we'll regret that.
- Dollars : Do we have marquee dollars available with Hope and King.
Contrary to popular narrative Harris would have been a good fit in terms of our structure Hope, Cameron and D'Arcy are much shorter; Garner less so, but like our others isn't the marking threat of Harris, which is something we really lacked. D'Arcy played well further up the ground last year and could have played more midfield, likewise Harris looked good in the middle for Brisbane and would have offered a point of difference to our midfield. Hope is also 28 or 29, so Harris would have covered the future too.
In terms of money with Lambert stepping in as tier 1 we could have accommodated Harris in that slot. While I'm not sure how much of our 40k ambassador/marketing pool has been spent with Carlton having a few high profile players I'd imagine we could have offered a similar wage.
Mkcaptain raises a good point about 1 year contracts, which makes future planning difficult.
The other aspect is getting a trade done, which was difficult for Carlton to complete with state based drafts.
With regards to a trade Brisbane wanted players not picks as picks are worthless to them since they're the only club who can select players from the Qld draft pool. Either we had to convince additional players to leave, convince Stevens and/or Eva to go to Brisbane or come up with a multi club deal with some of their players heading north. We had Mutiple Top 5 Picks to use in a Trade for Harris
Collingwood AFLW operations manager Mathew James said the club was delighted with their recruitment.
“Going into the second year of the program we’re eager to combine our lessons from the 2017 season with the mix of knowledge, skills and experience found in Chloe, Daniel, Lynden and Matt," he told Collingwood Media.
“Lynden quickly gained the respect of our AFLW players for his honest and professional approach while mentoring the team last season and with four teams under the one roof he’s exemplifying the side-by-side culture by working across both teams."

Lynden Dunn has been a great addition to our club, on so many levels. We got that one right, even if his age will limit his AFL career.
Dunn received a lot of praise at the women's B&F last year for his mentoring. It's great to see he's been rewarded with a formal role for 2018.Great decision to appoint Dunn. Seems like an absolute natural to step into coaching, based on his on field leadership and his experience.
Very glad he came into the club when he did and it's a shame it wasn't sooner. One of those players you just don't appreciate until you see them on a regular basis.
Interesting that Harford was brought onboard also. From memory he grew up supporting the pies. Finally gets to wear the right colours.
