Really can't work out why we're taking Lobbe and then drafting De Konning.

Just makes little sense to keep stacking up on all these talls.

De koning-Obvious krez replacement can go forward and kick a goal will need plenty of time.

Gartlett is supremely talented.

What's concerning is that he left the Suns in part because of homesickness. You'd hope the fact that he put his hand up for the draft means that he's ready to give it another serious crack.

Have to assume the club has also done its due diligence.

He realised normal jobs are bloody hard and footballers good ones get paid shit loads

Seriously everyone wanted Constable and Fogarty. We can't have a side with all inside midfielders. We recruited players that we needed based on needs and talent that fitted in with our culture. Pick thirty is a project Ruckman/Forward which we need once Kruese is finished. Very athletic and kicks goals.
Schumacher has a racking left foot and looks a Williamson like selection. Garlett is the small forward we have been asking for. Overall very happy with the result. We need to trust SOS and our recruiting department.

So we turbo charged our midfield, Dow is the best fit for our midfield and will work really well with Crippa, love the kids attack on the footy and the jets to get out of traffic.
LOB adds some much needed class on the outside, that left peg is a serious weapon.
De Konging pick was a surprise, but SOS must really rate him and that's enough for me to get excited.
Garlett was also a nice surprise, he looked awesome early on up at GCS, he could be a massive steal.
Looks like SOS has smashed another draft.

Public consensus had LDU above Dow. Either could be the better player in the future. It's a complete 50/50. I wanted Dow bad.

Over my long and treacherous years of draft watching, I've learned that public consensus is utter garbage bro.

Both will be great players, Dow fits Carlton better.

Public consensus is crap, it's built up by media so the fans have something to talk about. Recruiters from professional clubs are the people that has spent months looking at a player and digging into most things about them. It's about what's best for each club.
Exhibit A: Public consensus didn't have Cripps in the top 10 in his draft year, and he's easily one of the best 3 players from that year

I'm a bit surprised as the selections. We definately seem to back ourselves in over what seems to be general C.

I thought LDU was better than Dow from the footage I saw, but agree LDU was exploiting a size advantage that won't be there at AFL level.

I posted a while ago with info from a reliable source that Darcy didn't want to leave SA and wouldn't be leaving. I was (probably rightly so at the time) shot down for it, but looks like my source's information was correct

You would blame him, as he would have been taking the player he saw to be inferior.

Dow was #1 in SOS's book.
