You complain about Constables speed and then you talk about Higgins? Interesting considering how slow Higgins is across the ground. I would be picking Constable before him.

When talking about pick 10, you probably should remove players that are highly likely to be gone.

Those names are highly likely to be off the board.
Brander - He could slide and looked like he had a massive amount of potential in his under aged year. I think he could play forward but if we view him as a defender first, we would probably jump over him.
Constable, Coffield, Bonar and Clark - Those are three names I would not mind us selecting come draft day.
Bonar - Athletic beast of a player and very high upside. Great size, ability to play as an inside midfielder and move forward.
Coffield - Leadership qualities, quick and nice kicking skills. (Not a pure midfielder at the moment, so would need to improve that aspect)
Constable - High level decision making skills and kick, just the least athletic of the players.
Clark - Has the long limbs of Bonti and a nice shape. Has showed he can move into the midfield and loves to tackle as well. Was a personal favourite of mine for a while and I love his potential.

Are you basing this information on 2016?
The only position I watched him look like he had any ability in was the defensive half playing as a sweeper, otherwise he was lost around the ground.

Knightmare doesn't rate CCurnow or McKay in the same way he rated Broomhead..
Puts effort in and provides good content but theres no denying he can't keep his bias out of it.

The write up on Constable is all about him lacking pace and being an inside mid in the Cripps mould. The difference with Higgins is he isn't an inside mid. Don't get me wrong, Higgins is not my choice at #10. I'd rather a balanced midfielder unless we get Cerra at #3, in which case a forward/midfielder works for me.

He took a year off and focused on football, so he is closer to his ceiling then the average draftee.
He hasn't got a standout midfield or forward trait except work ethic.
His skills are good, occasionally very good, but he overdoes his kicks sometimes.

And maybe.
But I see other types I feel better about around 10.

I am not saying Constable is quick, but neither is Higgins. When you're below 180cm and slow, it makes life in the AFL hard.

Same knock was on Ben Cousins. Too slow for a small guy. He worked hard on it and improved. Pretty sure he was a decent player... pretty sure.

Not a retort, more a comparison - how'd Toby Greene go at the combine for speed compared to Higgins.
Edit: I honestly don't know and can't really find out at work.

15.02 beep and I'm guessing his 20 metre sprint wasn't far north of 2.9; was a good year for speed/endurance combos.

Cheers. A quick search reveals nothing re his speed. Except that this year the new gps tracking stats revealed he reached the highest speed recorded by any player during a game this year. Higgins reminds me of Toby although probably slower, however I think Higgins makes up for that with a high IQ and therefore positions himself well to read the play, whereas Toby is a dunce.

It’s going to be a combination of speed, agility and endurance that will matter. Not just speed. I would think Higgins agility and endurance are pretty good. If this is the case straight line speed becomes less of an issue.
Higgins looks a little different to some of the shorter guys like Daniels, Gresham and Fisher that fit a similar description. Higgins seems much stronger over the ball, better contested player with good hands. The only afl player l can think of that’s a little similar is Dion Prestia. Short, nuggerty and good with contested footy. Higgins speed will be less of an issue at afl level if he is very good with contested football.
I do think Higgins kicking can be a little dodgy though. I think he should be a good player, what draft pick he’s worth is another question. From the little l know l would take him in first round but unsure where.

I quite like Constable, but looking through his clips, he's seems to be lacking in that bit of aggression and burst of speed which is pretty important. With Cripps for example, although he isn't the quickest, he has that burst of speed which enables him to burst through the pack, that was evident before he got drafted to. But I suppose one could say that Constable more than makes up for that with his foot skills, but even then, what use is that if you can't get some distance between you and your opponents?
I feel like there are some question marks over how well Coffield and Clark would do after being moved into midfield at AFL level. There are of course question marks over Bonar's injury and fitness, but he seems like the one with the most upside.

Know where you're coming from but I also know his first few seasons it was suspect and that he's the best trainer at gws with this area a particular focus. That comes straight from one of the coaches. Kinda just shows that if anyone is good enough to be drafted top 20 then they've probably got the capacity to learn and fix deficiencies if they work hard enough. Where hard enough is hardest on the team type stuff. I see that drive in Higgins. A couple people have said they think he's closer to peaking. I think when you work that hard your peak is higher than anyone will anticipate.
Was a while there that Toby was a hack kick and probably not a good high pick.

However it pans out SoS has gotten us 2 picks in the top 10, and as much as players are yo-yoing up and down, he rates it.
Fogarty did not show his best during 2017 restricted by injuries, he's a good footballer can play the game no issue and I'd be thrilled if we swooped with pick 10. I know it's been said before but he has a Stringer/ Petracca hubrid style of playing with similar strong physic , no tank though but that wiil come, gritty , smart footballer a forward that will tack a man on and can read the game are priceless.
I'd be stoked , otherwise Boanar love his attitude and ability to burn huge up side, and if playing it safe Coffied would be good too.
