I've been on the Stephenson/Brayshaw/Coffield bandwagon but I am really starting to warm to the idea of taking Hunter Clark at this pick.

Looks to be a really nice midfield prospect who has plenty going for him -

- Hybrid mid
- Dual sided
- Good skills
- Goal kicker

Reminds me of a young Rory Sloane.
i love players who can kick both sides well. It is the quickest way to move the ball on if you have that skill

I'm with you here, not really anything to go on apart from highlights but seems hard with skill and poise. Clarke at 10 for me

I used to be big on drafting players who were flankers but who had scope to push into the midfield but now I'm not so sure.

I feel it's becoming a bias these days, hoping that the 185 CM+ kid will eventually push into the midfield. Not sure how feasible or true it is.

I think it depends on what makes them flankers in the first place. But if there's a perceived bias, SOS is being paid to cut through that.

Given Fogarty's best footy has been as a forward and he clearly prefers playing forward, if we pick him up at 10 with the view to play him up forward that's fine.

But im not too interested in hearing any of this 'he can develop into a midfielder' bs...if we want to draft a mid just draft a guy who actually plays mid.

I don't want him at all actually...a 192cm player who is big but not very quick...we already have guys like Charlie & Cripps who could interchange up forward for that kind of role i don't think we need yet another similar player. We'd be terribly slow across the park and right now speed and defensive pressure is pretty important.

I'm now hunter-clark or Higgins at 10 unless there's a real slider.
Rayner and HC would be a solid haul

Just had my first look and Hunter Clark and how the hell did i miss him im definitely on board to take him at 10 the only players i would take ahead of him at 10 would be Brayshaw and Fogarty but i recon they'll both be gone so its Clark for me now
Rayner at 3 and Clark at 10 and I'll be stoked

Yeah from watching highlight videos and reading phantom drafts Clark seems likely to be the best mid available at pick 10.

Tough, determined, dual-sided and can play half back as well which is useful should we get some injuries and with Simmo retiring soon.

I'm not so sure about the Rayner/Clark combo though only because the 'weakness' listed for both of them is endurance. I'd be a bit uncomfortable using our top 2 picks on guys with questionable endurance.

I'd rather LDU/Dow/Cerra & Clark.

I feel passing on Higgins at 10 would be a big mistake. He is going to be a player.
He actually reminds me a bit of Selwood from a determination perspective. He's a bit smaller, and needs to work on his endurance, but he certainly has the right characteristics.

Is Higgins in the mould of Fisher?
Nah Higgins is slower, a better forward with a good tank.

Fisher has excellent ball control and faster hands

I understand what your saying but if we passed on Rayner i feel it will be a huge mistake his numbers for a forward/mid are awesome imagine how good he would be once he gets abit more endurance

That's exactly how I see him.

Joel turned up at Geelong and ran rings around those underperforming arrogant flog senior players, playing a big part in changing the culture.
These ultra determined types bring more than just their performance on the field.
