Risky pick but he seems to be very confident in the knee with the way he plays. Draft smokey perhaps?Impressive that he featured in the top 10 for agility, considering his size and history..
Still scares me.

Kane Lucas says hey back.
Lucas had the skill set but never the work rate of a Gaff. Kane was great when someone was feeding him the ball, while Gaff's work rate demands that players use him as the next link in the chain

I was working at the ground in early 2010 and got to see a lot of the training outside of the main sessions. The two who were always doing track work instead of skills were Lucas and McLean. Both players relearnt their running technique, and both lost a significant yard of pace. That's not made up, as I saw it first hand.
Watched Kane (and there was someone else also) being taught how to run in a different manner.
What I didn't like is just how disinterested the fitness staff/coaches seemed to be, with their back to Kane observing what the rest of the guys were doing up the field, only occasionally turning around just to tell him he's doing it wrong.
This sounds like the downside of the Cordy error: built up players tanks and got some strength gains, but ultimately tried to turn players into things they weren't and try to get too many to confirm to a very strict perception of athleticism.I was working at the ground in early 2010 and got to see a lot of the training outside of the main sessions. Strength gains were a clear focus for McLean. He was always running laps dragging weights behind him on a sled. It's almost like Ratten said 'turn us into Geelong' and Cordy relished the prospect of not training a pack of flankers from the Dogs for a change.

Id say pendlebry like doesn't exactly look quick but seems to never get caught and always has time to dispose of the ballI've watched and rewatched Constable's vids and don't find his pace as big of an issue as some phantom drafters do. Was also cleaner and smarter at TAC level. I am now okay if we get him.
Surgical techniques are improving all the time, and he's young. He's clearly done the physio properly and then done all the right work.
Top 10 for sprints and agility at the combine. The agility test is pretty taxing on the knees and ankles.

Don't they say these days the knee is actully better after the reco?
I know they're pretty confident on shoulders coming through better, but knees have a lot more force applied through them, and resultantly I doubt anything interfering with the flexibility of the leg and the nature/spacing of the joint surface of the knee leaves it the same.Don't they say these days the knee is actully better after the reco?
Yup, and they'll be doing that same physio regardless, usually at the expense of a little speed and agility.Stronger maybe. I'm not sure you'd elect to go through the trauma of reconstruction if of sound mind- easier to add a few extra squats and lunges to the leg routine. Always a concern down the track that there may be swelling on a regular basis.

Dont get cute. If Rayner and fogarty are rated the best there just get themIf we get Rayner at 3, I like Clark at 10. If we get a pure mid at 3, I like Fogarty at 10.
