It always happens, at least it shows clearly where you rate Garner at.

If he was a better kick, I think he'd be fantastic

Tough & versatile.

Garner looks good enough to be higher but I rank players with midfield games a bit higher than flankers that don't.

Interested to see where McCartin and Butts go both are absolute babies.

Callum Porter is one of my favorite later pick. Can easily see the team that drafts him get big rewards.

Terrific efforts at pick selections, guys. Thanks.

Looks like there will be a tall at pick nine and possibly at our second. If there was, would we take Brander/Balta or Dixon later on?

I don't think Balta or Brander are key forwards at AFL level and we have drafted a lot of key backs over the last few years. 50/50 depending on whether we want to get some bigger mids at 9 or not.

Also I don't think Balta is good enough to go top 10. Too inconsistent.

Dixon possible at our 2nd or 3rd.

Thoughts on Jackson Ross at our second? Wouldn't be surprised if he pushed himself up further with a strong end to the season but he's my favourite at this stage for 26. Has the athleticism and size to play in the Bailey Dale-mould with potential to burn. His production has been really good as well for a slightly-framed outside type, and his natural goal sense will serve him well at AFL level.

Definitely keen on Porter. I'd love to see us use our mid 80s pick on him if we have enough list spots available and he slides.

Lachlan Fogarty certainly gets a lot of best ons.
10+ tackles nearly every week and a couple goals with 20+ touches for a short guy are impressive numbers.
Seems to have a two way game perhaps. Could possibly also play Half forward or wing as well as on ball?
I admit I've only seen some highlights and one or two champs games online.

Some impressive highlights, looks pretty explosive and a good size at 187cms

Any of our WA posters know much about him?

I put Balta in my top ten because of his upside, and the fact that he's been played all over the ground (including long stints in the ruck, which he won't do at AFL level) so hasn't had the chance to settle in a position yet. But he's a high risk prospect, and would be a massive gamble at 9. Brander I should probably have lower, he was at 1 a month or two ago for me but has been slipping and will probably slip further. Still holding out some hope for him though. But there's probably a better prospect at 9 than either of them that we'll take.

It actually would not surprise me if Oscar Allen was in the conversation at 9 if he keeps his form up. A cm or two in growth by the combine would certainly help too. I have this odd feeling he's going to grow to KPF height and end up being a really strong pick.

I'm actually on the trade down train, multiple later first round picks feel better to me. 9 is an odd spot in this draft. We're right after the talent drops off a bit.

You have two Sam Hayes, at 9 and 13. One of them is Brander perhaps?

Also you have 2 players at 21.

Looks like Brander & Hayes will be two of the better prospects available at our first pick. Brander makes more sense given our investments in Boyd & English, if we look for a tall early.

Kreuger seems like a Dal pick, if we avoid the talls at our first.

Pick 9 really is a weird one for us in this draft.

Thanks, Brander would be 13

I'm not really excited by either though
I want them both gone by our pick so we get a look at one of the midfielders
I reckon we'll pass on both at this point so I wouldn't stress. Would hate to see one of them become the forward we need though.

Also who's your 21? You have 2 of them.

It is a tie ;)

Yeah, I was watching Constable highlights last night when I noticed that he's a really good disposer of the ball. But he seems to make his decisions very quickly and puts his teammates under pressure.

Not big on Hunter Clark either, can't deny he attacks the contest well and been dual sided is cool but his decision making at that level is very ordinary.

I still don't think that this draft is great at all compared to previous drafts, a lot of the top talent in the draft don't even come close to some of the freakish numbers of players drafted in the past.

If Carlton get LDU though, they are going to have one imposing duo in the midfield with him & Cripps.

From what I can tell Clark's been improving over the last couple weeks. The decision making and iffy disposal has apparently gotten better. I had him really high at the start of the year, then he kept slipping because of the reasons you said, but now I'm back on him. I reckon he's a top ten chance.

Just looking through the stats on the games from the weekend. Big outlier this week seems to be Tristan Xerri (2g2, 25d, 3m, 3t, 21ho).

The big Key Forward/Ruck doing his rookie prospects no harm.

If the possibility came about, would you trade our first rounder this year for a probably good round one pick next year?

Asked this before but got no replies (gotta learn not to post at 4am). Keen to get people's opinions.

What do people think of Higgins as a permanent small forward? Worth taking him high for that role? I'm a bit meh on him as a midfielder but Toby Greene comparisons got me intrigued. I'd have him higher in my rankings if that was a realistic option.

I watched a few videos of Greene highlights last night to, then Higgins. Greene was far more aggressive at the contest than Higgins, didn't get bodied as easily & used the ball with more damage

I'd have Higgins well below other shorties at the same age and maybe just above Hrovat.

What has drawn the comparisons to Greene? Does he kick people in the face? Spit on them? Assault members of the public? Interested to hear more about him.

Greene's underage highlights or AFL highlights though? KM's latest power rankings now has Greene as the player comparison for Higgins.

his junior highlights, yeah.

I've felt for a while now that player comparisons were a silly thing honestly and can set false expectations.
