I can't see St Kilda passing on Brayshaw or Cerra though, and I suspect they will also be looking at Bonar who I expect to push into the top 10 (not that I think he necessarily should). I still feel that there's a chance one of Coffield or Cerra can slip through to our pick - if Fogarty and Hayes bolt, we could maybe be in with a shot of them. Unlikely, but maybe.Pies really keen on Coffield. If they don't take him, Saints will for sure.

Funny, I watched each of those videos 10 minutes ago, just wanted to reaffirm my thoughts on Constable.
I'm with you, don't get it - well, more that I don't think he's for us. Then again I've pretty much honed in on Nathan Murphy as my man so perhaps I'm being myopic.I'll be honest, I just don't see what excites you about him. He seems solid and dependable but I'd want more with a top ten pick.

We're like-minded on Murphy too, I'd be happy with him. Have you watched the one game of Richards that is on youtube?I'm with you, don't get it - well, more that I don't think he's for us. Then again I've pretty much honed in on Nathan Murphy as my man so perhaps I'm being myopic.![]()
I haven't watched the full game, I can't make my mind up on him though. Great athletic attributes but there's just something that doesn't sit right with me, he has been quite fumbly the times I've seen him. Working on limited vision though with all these opinions. We're like-minded on Murphy too, I'd be happy with him. Have you watched the one game of Richards that is on youtube?

Yeah my real wish is for a damaging player of some description and he just doesn't seem that to me.Constable just looks slow and low impact to me. Great at what he does, for sure, but I'm not seeing a great fit in our midfield.
If we're going an inside mid we need one that has a real point of difference; an ability to not only win the contested ball but to really spread, receive and deliver when the situation calls for it. If he is genuinely that type of player fantastic, but with the limited footage I'm going on he didn't look it. Good player, sure, just too samey to such an extent that will see him wasted in our side.

It's not about winning the outside ball, it's about transitioning from inside to outside. We have so many guys that struggle to make that transition and once teams strategised for our quick hands out of a contest they closed us down. Our stoppages were so messy because, in addition to having players down on form, we didn't have many players who could really carry the ball out of a contest and do some damage. Adding another guy who wins the inside ball and can play outside but doesn't really move between them fluently and quickly is not going to change much for us in my opinion. We need an alternative method by which we work the ball out and I think Constable is too much of the same.If you mean winning the ball outside and inside he does that. He finds the ball everywhere he goes wherever as a forward, defender or as a midfielder. He might not be super quick but he spreads well.
If you want to attack the way Constable moves around the ground then you'll be attacking the best player in our team imo.
I see him being like an inside version of Macrae, getting a lot of the pill and working forward to hit the scoreboard.
If we manage a trade like the one I mentioned before for Schache (given we are interested) and end up with either 18/19 for 11 and a later pick then that pick would be much better for one of Murphy/Bailey/Richards. 9 is too early.
I'd like him if we had 2 pick but we need to be 100% on his knee to take him though. We already have a lot of players on our list with knee issues.I feel like Bonar is the answer to all your questions, just no one is ready to accept it as an answer yet. Who has pace and size to burst out of congestion? Who has clean hands in tight? Who has versatility to play every position on the ground? Who has elite agility? Who can take contested marks and provide manic tackle pressure, and tackle hard? Bonar, Bonar, Bonar, Bonar, Bonar. Once you see past the knee being an issue, you've found your man. After all he only did it once. The second time was due to a poor surgical procedure. Ask me a question that I won't answer with Bonar I dare you.
It's simply a case of whether or not his medical screening was positive. If the results were good, he's an early pick. If they weren't good, he's undraftable. It's a risk I'd take. I'm sure he was cleared. Even Clay Smith has managed to put multiple knee issues behind him and return to playing good footy. Smith has had his share of knee issues, Prudden and Murphy are no longer on the list, Rourke Smith has knee issues but he is a rookie that may not be upgraded and Libba has done one and returned from it fine. I don't think our list is full of ACL prone players despite being unlucky with a couple.I'd like him if we had 2 pick but we need to be 100% on his knee to take him though. Yeah he sounds great, would love to see some footage of him.
What players have done a knee predraft before and have they been more susceptible to it over their careers?
Yes, he acted as his teams midfield coach during his recovery.Didn't Lever?
