Now that the draft order is cemented for the upcoming 2017 draft, I'm keen to see how everyone's mock draft top ten's look, in particular fans of teams with top 10 picks who do you hope to get? I'll start..

1. Brisbane select Cameron Rayner (Vic Metro)
There's a clear top two in this years draft imo with Rayner and LDU and I see the X factor/forward goal kicking glimpses shown by Rayner having him go pick 1. He has stated he would be happy to stay in Brissy and isn't one for getting homesick.

2. Fremantle select Luke Davies-Uniacke (Vic Country)
No brainer for Freo who are almost guaranteed to pick up LDU or Rayner with that pick 2. LDU looks like a ready made big midfielder who will be a guaranteed gun in the AFL and has a bigger tank than Rayner- will be a fantastic addition to the Fyfe/Neale midfield combo. Helps that he is a country boy also.

3. Carlton select Adam Cerra(Vic Metro)
Reminds me a lot of a younger Pendles, doesn't appear to be super fast but you always want the ball in his hands. With the big bodies of Cripps returning and the growth of Charlie Curnow, having Cerra's polish will mix well with that midfield balance and he fits with boltons high possession style of play.

4. North Melbourne select Paddy Dow(Vic Country)
After having a big year Dow has shown great all round attributes and is the best pure midfielder left on the board for north to continue their rebuild with. Great testing confirms he has the pace and combined with his contested ball winning looks to be a great mid for the future.

5. Fremantle select Darcy Fogarty (Sa)
Freo will hope their history with the SA boys continues (Pav/Neale) and take a punt on another very big bodied mid who has the versatility to go fwd or back in Fogarty. Assuming his health is 100% Fogarty combined with LDU gives Freo the option to rotate these guys along with Fyfe and Walters to have a ton of fwd line rotation options.

6. Collingwood select Jarrod Brander (Allies)
Desperate to fill their key position stocks, the pies get the best defender in the draft with Brander. The 6"4 key defender has shown versatility as a fwd which would be appealing however that intercept marking ability enables the pies to build a defensive game plan around Howe and Brander. No brainer here for Collingwood.

7. St Kilda select Jaidyn Stephenson (Vic Metro)
One of the most athletic talents in the draft, Stephenson provides huge X factor as a half fwd flanker or third tall up forward. However it's Jaidyns ability to win the ball that makes him intriguing, he had multiple 30+ possession for Vic Metro showing he can also be a force in the midfield and injects that pace and electricity the Saints want in the midfield.

8. St Kilda select Jack Higgins (Vic Metro)
As far as finding the footy, no one competes with Higgins in this draft. Possibly the smartest draftee and definately the best at finding the pill, I see Higgins as Tom Mitchell 2.0. A set and forget midfielder, chuck Higgins in any midfield and it's that much deeper. Underrated like so many before him purely because of his size. Ready made.

9. Bulldogs select Aaron Naughton(WA)
Having substantial midfield depth as well as KPF depth, I see the dogs taking Naughton as the future of their backline. With the loss of Hamling, retirements of Murphy and Boyd and Morris looking like having 1 last year, Naughton provides that combination of 1 on 1 key defender hardness as well as being a fantastic natural intercept mark. Similar to a Jake Lever type of player, he fits the dogs needs at pick 9.

10. Carlton select Nick Coffield (Vic Metro)
Having picked up Cerra to go along with the additions of Kennedy and Lang, as well as a returning Cripps gives them a great midfield core and allows Curnow to spend much more time up forward. Ballenden and Allen not being KPF's worthy of a top pick sees the blues take the tall versatile HBF Coffield. This pick takes into account the ageing Kade Simpson and under guidance from simmo I see Coffield commanding that backline alongside Doch for the next 10 years. Shows terrific leadership qualities and is a great decision maker.

Let me know what you think of the mock draft and who you see going in the top 10.

I would say if Coffield slipped to the dogs, we would snap him up just like that. Also, we are verging on top-heavy in our defence with Morris (190) Cordy (192) Trengove (197) and Adams (192) established best 22 defenders. Would be very surprised if we took another key defender.

Thanks Tyler Hodges, you were a voice of reason in the Weller thread when people were saying a pick in the 20's and you are a voice of reason here. No Naughton at pick 5. If we got LDU and Fogarty I would ecstatic

1. Brisbane: Rayner
2. Fremantle: LDU
3. Carlton: Dow
4. North: Stephenson
5. Fremantle: Fogarty
6. Collingwood: Brander
7. St Kilda: Cerra
8. St Kilda: Bonar
9. Western Bulldogs: Higgins
10. Carlton: Coffield

That was rather tough- I tried my best to think why teams should go down each path but I can't say I know teams as intimately as I do WC.

Brisbane go Rayner I think. Give him 2-3 years on a flank, build his fitness and I think he becomes a devastating midfielder. Given the recent departures of #1 picks, it's almost a certainty he will leave one day. Why not get the best footballer and just work your best to keep him?

I think Fremantle go tallish with 5. Although they certainly won't reach for someone like Allen for example- I think given the fact they will get the choice of Mids with their 1st will mean they may be tempted to reach for a guy in that 5-15 range. Hayes/Brander/Naughton or Fogarty would be my guesses.

Carlton get the next best midfielder in Dow plus a HBF in Coffield to pair with Docherty after Simpson retires.

North get Stephenson who if fit will play most of next year, I think. He looks like he is ready physically and again, another that may play on a flank and be eased into midfield minutes.

It seems expected that Collingwood go tall- Brander seems to be in that category of being flexible in playing down back or up forward, even if it seems to be down back he is more suited.

St Kilda I think can afford to take a punt on Bonar. Yes, his endurance didn't test well- but after his knees that isn't surprising he doesn't have that base. He will have some work to do but he has some weaponry. Taking Cerra at 7 means they get a sure bet and a risk which could pay dividends.

And lastly, the bulldogs; they get my personal favourite from this draft in Higgins- if fit he plays round one next year. Has such great goal sense, which is what the Bulldogs need, I think. Mentioned on the WC board I can see him also developing into a Sam Mitchell type midfielder in time- someone who isn't the quickest but knows how to get the ball and what to do with it.

We have Tom Williamson just turned 19 left footed elite kick that will replace Simmo and we also have Cieran Byrne dont think our backline line needs attention at this moment. We just need an elite core of young midfielders to join Cripps, Kennedy, SPS, Lang, Cunningham, Fisher..and hopefully LDU + Higgins joins this group next month

Or pick Coffield, let Coffield and Williamson be the backline distributors and have Docherty deliver it into the forward line from the midfield...

Would be happy with a combo of Cerra, Higgins and Coffield. Expecting LDU and Rayner to be 1 & 2.

Naughton is my early tip at a slider. Fremantle have been tipped at pick 5 but they have some reasonable picks put into KD in recent years, Pies are more likely to go Brander, and then 7-10 don't need him (Saints, Dogs, Carlton all looking for mids or flankers).

GWS probably pass at 11. Adelaide could be possibility, may be a direct Lever replacement. WC possibly - not on need but he is probably the best WA kid, could flirt with McGovern going forward more often?

I expect him to finish in the 12-17 range. Could be pretty good value. I think at pick 5 Freo have to go best available, but pick 13 is starting to be in the range of not necessarily best available but best local boy for long-term gain.

Be stoked with these to for Freo. Udl a country boy who loves his surf would fit in well. We have had great success with sa players. Yeah boi

I really hope we take LDU with pick two but Rayner is just as good. I really haven't been impressed by the highlights of Dow and can't see what everyone's going on about with him, both LDU and Rayner are way better than him.
As for pick five i want Forgarty, this kid has Pav potential !. he's a big lad at 192cm already and should grow more , on top of that he can play anywhere on the ground.
