Thoughts on Lids?

I still love Lids. Could easily get 110 and be the highest averaging fwd. Will rack up quite a few posis as a HF, tonnes of score involements and kick plenty of snags in a team that will convincingly roll a lot of the other teams in the comp. Used to be a picture of fitness, not the case anymore unfortunately.
Round 13 bye is a pain.

I think you either start with him and ride it out all year or you don't pick him at all and not have to worry about him missing games. Too risky to trade him in only for him to go down 2 weeks later like I did last year.

+ How many Giants can go 100+?
Ward, Coniglio, Shaw easily.
Then they've got blokes like Kelly, Shiel, Scully, Greene, Griffen, Mummy and even Williams who could all push 100+ aves.

Any of you Saints fans give us an update on Billings? Improved his tank/which group he's training with?

I'm not looking at Jack at this stage FWIW

I expect he will be in the midfield a bit more this year. He's certainly looking fit af at the moment- but who isn't!

Didn't finish top 6 in the 3km time trials from memory but I'm not sure that's his strength. Wait and see for me.

Angus Brayshaw is another to add to the watchlist. Injured early in the first pre season game last year. Literally the opening bounce.
Apparently had a great pre season this year. Coming into third year and ripe for a breakout.

I assumed the way you were talking he would be about 200k. Just looked him up. At 353k - no thanks!

Would need to average at least 90 to be a good pick.

Am I missing something?

I am putting him in the Lachie Weller camp. Someone who is a breakout chance. He is apparently quiet fit and will likely get decent midfield minutes.
He is only on the watchlist but if things go right could go 90.

Geelong won 17 games last year. Motlop averaged 84.1 with 9 games under 80.

Last years average of 84.1 was his second best year in his career with the year before being his best SC year with a whopping average of 88.
Interesting, if you remove his 2 best and worst games he ave 81.25 with 8 scores out of 20 under 60.
High ceiling but a watersoaked cellar!

I picked him up at 380k last year and was happy with his finish to the year. Was going to slot him in at f3, but the power of stats is has altered my thinking!

The only reason you pick him is because you, like Toxic, believe he will play his arse off for a new contract, he tries a bit harder because Geelong are on the up/top 4, he rocked up in better nic after Xmas, he promised you personally that he will lay off the turtles.

Reason why you pick him is he is a player who ave 80's and stinks it up, badly, 1/3 of the time. He decides to play a little in the 10 scores under 60 last year and he can hit 100ave easy.
Fwds are such a crap shoot this year, all sorts of names are being thrown up. IF i pick Motlop chances are i will be throwing up every second week.

50/50 risk expecting mids to break out in their 3rd year, some like Jelwood , Judd and Fyfe may have done, others like Gaj, danger , swan , pendles took 4 or 5 years.

Edit: haven't checked stats on that so I could be a bit wrong but I'm quietly confident.:$
