No, it wouldn't be smarter to arrange a footy match at the hottest part of a Qld summer's day. Rain happens during the regular season, high heat & humidity usually don't.
The past few weeks here in south east Queensland the temperature at midday and the temperature from 3pm-5:30pm really hasn't been all that different.

It's only really been a 3-4 degree difference between the two times. The major difference would be the afternoon breezes which pick up at around the 2-3pm mark nearly every day.
Actually that's not really true. The winds should go lighter in the afternoon. It's blowing north/west in the morning and then it'll be quite blowy during the middle of the day pretty much a straight northerly. (Watch out for blue bottles if you're planning on making a day of it). It should lighten up significantly in the afternoon/late arvo. Also it's scattered storms I really wouldn't be too worried. We might get a little bit of rain but nothing like last year.

If you are planning on making a day of it don't bother going all the way up to cooly if you're looking for a swim in the morning. The spit will be the most protected of the lot of the Gold Coast beaches.

That would almost be interesting if you were a South American weather girl telling us that :p

The sun really does make a huge difference though. Running in Brisbane at around 6 is bad enough, I just couldn't do it in the middle of the day.

Did anyone see that seven news brisbane interview with Patt Welsh today? It's on twitter. He spoke to Tom Rockliff and they showed some video of a new commercial which Pat said could be an indication of the leadership group.
I could see Tom Rockliff, Dan rich, Dayne Beams and Zorko and biggest shock for me was Josh Walker! I would have thought there would be six but I couldn't see another person. Too shocked at Walker's presence.

The land/ocean thermal equilibrium ensures there will be afternoon breezes. Bookmark it.

That will only get lighter as the day goes on bookmark it. I'm a pretty avid surfer I keep a very close eye on what the weather & winds are doing on the GC.

Are you sure.... We have very different interpretations of the surf conditions then. I surf on the GC most weeks, sometimes twice a week if im lucky and the wind picks up usually mid morning and stays till very late arvo more often than not.

I think you guys are being a bit flippant with my language my fault I haven't been clear. What you're saying there is what I'm saying. I guess I just wasn't as clear. The games at 3 correct? The winds should get lighter as the game goes on. I'd consider that very late arvo as I more often than not am able to sneak down for a quick hour or two in the water from about 4-5 onwards as the winds usually start to back off around then.

I mean it even says on the report lol

Just watched Christensen on his indigenous trip. Didn't realise he was so involved, seems like a pretty cool thing the AFL puts together. Hopefully it helps to keep more indigenous boys in the game.

Paints Allen in a new light seems that he's matured a fair bit, for whatever reason he always came across as a bit of a party boy.

Where do you usually go for a surf? Just spent a week in Cabarita and Angourie, didnt get as many waves as I'd hoped for but it was nice to have some regular use of point breaks.

North or south wherever there is waves. The spit a lot lately because of all those northerlys. Spent a week at Peregian 2 weeks ago when there was that nice little NE swell and got waves all week. Really nice up there never surfed that far north besides Noosa once and although real fun I've never seen such hostility in the line up.

Cabarita is definitely a favourite of mine absolutely beautiful beach and usually pretty good as far as crowds go. The inside pocket just past Tallebudgera at palm beach has a real nice bank that barrels nicely once it gets above 3 foot. All along that stretch you can usually find a nice bank to yourself.

I hate crowds so I tend to avoid the points a lot and mainly hit the beach breaks. However Moffatts at the sunny coast is probably my go to point and there's a secret couple of breaks around there that are left handed reef/rock point breaks that go off under the right conditions and barely get more than 6 people on them. You're gonna have to pm me for the locations to those ones though :p.

North Stradbroke as well is amazing you can always find a wave there just gotta keep an eye out for those men in grey suits
