Melb belts all the weaker teams quite easily - ave winning margins are over 50 for games against teams outside the 8 both at home and away.

Dunn, Scharenberg, Wells, Reid are not in your top 15.

Half of those players have barely played this year

Hardly play ever because they're injury prone. The reason the Pies are doing so well this year is that they've blooded young fast players that are doing a better job than what the injured guys would be doing.

Treloar and De Goey (and Dunn for structural reasons) are the only real losses, Howe will play.

I would say Dunn is top 5 in terms of importance in our team lol...

I would list the importance of our players as:

1. Grundy
2. Treloar
3. Pendlebury
4. Sidebottom
5. Dunn
6. De Goey
7. Cox
8. Thomas
9. Howe
10. Hoskin-Elliot

Scharenberg is our equivalent of Tom Stewart, good disposals, all rounder who can play defensive on smalls or talls, or rebound.
Looking at the list we had 2 from our top 5, 4 from our top 10 players out against u guys. Chances are our injuries will be just as bad for next round.

Normally I'd tip against the pies when our team has been destroyed like this, only saving grace is that our most affected area-defence, probably can still handle Sydney's weak forward line.

Our forward line can still function as long as we have key members in Cox, Hoskin-Elliot, Stephenson and Thomas.

The main problem is the midfield. I suspect Pendlebury will take JPK, Adams will take Parker and Sidebottom will take Heeney/Hewett. Feels like we could lose the clearances and make Sydney look alot better than they are.

Moore should blanket Franklin quite well tho.

I guess u could take it which ever way you want to. But crows could get mackay smith, Douglas and doedee back.
Which would almost make it their best team on paper all year aside from seedsman missing.
Maybe I'm a little bias to them winning. but it sounds like their bittersweet ending to their year in 2018 - win games at the end of season only to miss finals none the less.
This is just my opinion, u pick whoever u think will win.

I completely agree, both sides have some long term injuries, Collingwood have more but as far a depth goes I think Collingwoods bottom 6 will still be better than the worse 6 players the Swans field.

Not sure Jack or Hannebery coming back would be a bad thing for the Pies given Sydney’s lack of pace.

The other consideration is Sydney’s terrible SCG form coulpled with the fact they are terribly out of form in general.

Collingwood play well when they come up to Sydney. I nearly fell over when I saw the Pies were $2.25 as Essendon were beating up the Swans and then Collingwood played well for 3 quarters against a red hot Richmond.

I just don’t see how Sydney are favs. Our best two players are battling injuries and our depth in shocking at the moment. I thought market would be $1.60 Pies, $2.50 Swans. I expect we will fight hard in the first quarter and then get smoked.

Pies may not have much of a backline at the moment but Swans can’t kick a winning score at the moment anyway.
