There is. Despite the clubs performance over the season, they still only won 5 games and finished 15th. There is a chance that the AFL will accept it.

There is a chance but it's not a reasonable one

It's interesting. We had one of the best injury lists in the comp. If our injury list looked like Carlton's, would we still have been so promising?
Exactly, the fact that we only won 5 games with a great run re injury should if anything help our PP application.

I'm 99.99% certain we wont be getting any sort of PP.

As long as St.K don't get one, that's all I am concerned about. Preposterous that they are even in the mix for a PP of any kind.

Agree, if the Saints get one we should gather a posse to storm AFL HQ with pitchforks and torches and demands for an au pair for all Lions BF posters.

Yeah I'll be annoyed when Carlton got a better comp pick than us but I'm resigned to it now. Provided the Saints aren't given one I will live.

Mitch Grigg with back-to-back Margarey medals that's a fair effort!! Does anyone remember what he was like when listed with the crows? Seems big bodied, perhaps on the slow slide.
I liked Mitch Grigg in his draft year. Won the footy and had a beautiful, penetrating kick. Reads play well and makes good decisions. The issue has always been his ground coverage and agility which held him back at senior level.

I equate him to a lesser version of Daniel Rich.

Absolutely. For a team that had a cracker of a year last year and weren't that far off finals, now to be the resident sympathy case the AFL is now fawning over and appearing to be firming up to throw a PP at....just makes me sick to the stomach, given the depths Brisbane have had to endure (ramified to an extent by the introduction of the two expansion teams) for the better part of a decade.

It really doesn't have to be linear - we trade this year and draft next instead of the reverse. So we'll hopefully still be able to draft some more potential elite talent in 2019 and add an A grade mid this year. Also McFadyen may be a serious player. On top of that Fullerton and Madden could be anything. Good times ahead
As long as we get McFadyen, along with Neale, its all good. Incidentally,thethereq1re are young guns like Stocker, who will likely fall in the order due to injury interrupted seasons. We could still get 2 or 3,very good players, even allowing for the sacrifice for Neale.

Agree with you on Liam Stoker, would be a fantastic get if we keep our 2nd round selection. I'd be very conflicted though if him and Tom Berry were both available, although if it came down to a choice I'd go Stoker.

Dodongo was impressed by Nick Hind in the VFL today, especially his last play setting it up to Stewart to win.

24 though but is a running defender with brutal speed. Late draft pick option. Gold Coast or Carlton would probably look at him.

Sounds like the exact type we need Dodongo, Fagan and Noble have both said we need running defenders to compliment our kicking defenders.

I like the sound of brutal speed.

Dodongo is not sure if this works but look at VFL twitter

I tried same link but deleted as thought it wouldn’t work on 2018 draft thread

His Dad and Cam Rayners Dad played together in many flags, Nicks Dad the coach and both very good players, young Nick has a lot more future development in him also, he has always had break neck speed, he could be our Jake Lloyd for future, although Essendon were close to Rookie listing him last year

So... According to a former Courier Mail journalist, who once got rocked and had his tape recorder broken by a former football manager of the Lions says we shouldn't ask for a P. P. if we manage to organise a trade to get Neale.

However is Marcel Marco when Carlton, who apparently will get a P. P. dispite having a superior record, can chase McGovern with out any comment.

It's a good thing it's a national competition.

You never know we might not get Lachie Neale-

Connor Rozee continues to impress in the SANFL, another good showing today in a final this time off half back, can play back, forward and in the middle, classy player who I'd have no hesitation in taking if the big 4 are gone at our pick 4-5.

The skinny is Gil will allow us a category B au pair, I think that's the one in the middle.

Genuine A-grade magnet.
Bottom line we need some depth and spread in the engine room but to get elite depth - get it done!
Wish list:
Neale
Wallis
Jayden Hunt (if cheap)

Hunt? That's a good idea if you want somebody to miss targets all day and let their opponent get plenty of footy. There's a good reason he's not in Melbourne's team.

Love his speed and willingness to take on the game but you're right that his disposal is garbage.

Ben King won't have done his top five chances any harm yesterday with 5 goals 6 behinds. If he could kick he would have matched his brother's 8 goals from earlier in the year. Can take a decent grab although hard to measure given he is so tall and the anti-congestion rules definitely work to his advantage at U18 level.

isn't stoker now seen as a likely late riser. No chance of still being htere by the time our current 2nd rounder pops around (probably pick 28 or something with all the free agents on the move + potential priority picks)

Some good glimpses from Connor Rozee in a SANFL final, he's playing out of the back line here but he's more of a mid/forward usually.
