I seem to recall you saying "Wow BRAB you really changed my mind with your intellect and wit" but perhaps I'm misremembering.

So basically what I'm reading is the club has earned no benefit of the doubt for taking guys like Berry and Bailey higher than the group think recently.

Smith seems like the type of bloke you would love to play with, but hate to play against. Hopefully can be an upgraded version of SPP. Seems really strong at the contest and uses his hands well. I'm coming around to him pretty quickly. Liked what I saw in his highlights video.

Yes. Misremembering. I seem to recall we had an agreement around "what a stupid trade...", or maybe it was "at least it was better than the Fevola trade".

Berry wasn't higher than the groupthink, was he? I loved him pre-draft, and was concerned about the family pull given the tragedy they went through, but otherwise was stoked.

Bailey was a bit or a reach, and I'm happy to call that a win. Starce was also a bit of a reach, and so far I haven't seen anything to say he wasn't a reach. Still would've preferred Fogarty at that pick, though it's definitely too soon to call.

Ok I just found some comments on Facebook and old school teachers saying he rarely smiles. I saw a photo of him and his brothers and Ely and his older brother not smiling and it’s someones birthday as there was cake. And no smiling. Everyone smiles when there is cake even half eaten cake don’t they? But he’s a different kid, so trust the recruiters that this guy is a good fit for us and move on.
We didn’t recruit him for smiles. No doubt he will put a few of these on our faces when he racks up 40 touches in a game.

I saw a photo of him and his brothers and Ely and his older brother not smiling and it’s someones birthday as there was cake. And no smiling. Everyone smiles when there is cake even half eaten cake don’t they? But he’s a different kid, so trust the recruiters that this guy is a good fit for us and move on.

Smith is one of those kids that's just shy/socially awkward. Nothing wrong with it because he's a different beast on the football ground. But when I was at the Morrish Medal, he was the kid with his parents glancing back and forth from his phone on the side of the room - there were some like that - while you know the extroverts who would storm across the busy area shouting out to a mate across the room. From all reports he's an unbelievable character, but yeah very shy/awkward so I'd say last night was something outside his comfort zone for him. He just lets his actions do the talking.

Fagan certainly knows what he wants, we have been lacking in the contest for a long period of time. And this off season has brought in Neale, Lyons (2 of the best in the game in this area) and now Ely who has the potential to join them.
