Hoping they go for a VFL player first and leave Pickett to us.
In open Draft
If Carlton want to go ahead of GC they can use their second round pick .
Pick 39 Pickett
Pick 41 Collins

Gold Coast’s Head of Development Shaun Hart says the club will be looking to add more experience to its list during this year’s trade period.

The Suns endured a difficult 2018 season, recording just four wins and finishing the year in 17th position on the ladder.

While Brisbane great Hart highlighted the importance of acquiring young top-end talent, the need to complement that youth with experienced players is something the expansion club is keen to do.

“A combination of both (experience and youth),” Hart told SEN’s Whateley.

“Without a doubt we’ll get a big influx of young talent, but the reality is we need some senior people, some senior bodies and some really great leaders.

“The Luke Hodge type, of course, would be really nice and we need those guys to be able to really help our younger group understand what it is to be an AFL person and an AFL footballer.

“To live a professional lifestyle and achieve certain training and life standards to be able to make sure we help them become the performers they need to become.”

Gold Coast have the youngest list in the competition and are crying out for an injection of leadership within its ranks.

Stuart Dew’s side holds pick two in this year's AFL draft, and is expected to get another high pick as compensation for the departing Tom Lynch.

Great to hear Harty is presenting the Norm Smith medal this year being a previous winner himself. He always impresses me whenever I hear him talk.

Jarrod Roughead would be ideal I would suggest.

Liam Stocker has just won the Morrish Medal for the MVP of the TAC Cup Competition in 2018. Given his absence from the National Championships, due to a broken jaw, he has largely dropped out of the Draft conversation. Now, having beaten out Sandringham Dragons team mates Bailey Smith, Ben King and injured Max King. He polled votes in 7 games and missed 4 out of 16 games as well as the rep season. He has been invited to the Draft Combine due to his early season form and as a 183cm contested ball winning midfielder he would be a gun to have on any list, especially ours.

There’s an old saying. A house is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Same here. If Gold Coast are willing to pay it then that’s what he’s worth

Absolutely. I'd just be amazed if that had any basis in fact.

Honeychurch the latest fringe player linked to us.

At 1.76m im not keen but i understand the club is probably just desperate to get anyone in. I suppose as long as they can kick they are better then several players on our list.

Honeychurch , GC are really getting desperate , his kicking is pretty bad .
