I listened to Pickering on SEN this morning, I took out of it that he wants out 100% he didn’t sound convincing at all about him staying

Yeah Pickering it just using the Suns to get his client a better deal could also mean we get a better pick for him so that's ok

The knock on Brodie was never his ability to pick up 25 touches a game. Hallahan could do that easily. It’s the disposal that hurts him. DE this year is 59% which can be misleading but his kicking isn’t close to being good.
No biggie, but I would just point out that at 23 years of age Hallahan had his best season @ 19 possessions a match. I reckon Brodie well and truly has him covered already.

Brodie is doing great, considering he's only played a few senior games. His kicking should improve, when he gets more used to the pace of AFL.

Hall is interesting. We need a quick midfielder, who regularly kicks goals & Hall is one of those. He's got a few flaws in his game that it doesn't look like he'll ever overcome. I'm not sure he's even trying to address those flaws. He seems like an outsider within the club. It doesn't look like the other players like him & the club seems open to trading him every off-season. He'll probably end up at another club, but I doubt we'll receive much in return.

Lol my brother is a die hard Melbourne man who fell in love with GC after visiting once and was shown around properly (ie not Surfers Paradise)
He would move up in a heart beat if not for work.

Those people who say Gold Coast is a party town regularly are usually the ones who fly to Coolangatta get a rental car drive to surfer paradise and don’t leave unless they’re going to pacific fair to shop or theme parks otherwise that’s all they see

Boring and sad

I know this isn’t what most people think but I hope hall stays. Yes he’s a downhill skier but at his age and speed he’s exactly what we need. I feel with Brodie, Lyons, Touk we have enough defensive work there and inside work. Hall adds a different element. I think as well he would take the pressure off Weller to provide all the speed. I’m not sure if we’ve seen a team of Hanley, Weller and hall. Besides the Freo game where Hanley did his shoulder.

I would assume Hall goes and I'm not too bothered, but if he stays I wouldn't mind either.

If he goes though, we need a like for like replacement.
Ideally we’d get someone like gaff as a replacement but we all know that won’t happen. Just worried how young we are going to get next year.

Who’s Christopher Lee?
Some Sydney flog it just popped up in my twitter feed and couldn't stop laughing.
Just waiting for some Melbourne media people to report it as a good deal haha.
I can see a heap of clubs this year will offer the Suns a heap of trash players just hoping we give up a pick like we did for Weller

Well Hall is more valuable than Newman

So Lloyd and pick 30 for pick 3

Can't wait for the trade period should be a fun one :drunk:

A fair deal would be for Swans to add McVeigh and their 1st rd pick (~10) instead of Pies 2nd rd pick

Swans should be motivated to pay a high price / overpay for our FA compo (pick 3) as their academy kid in Blakey will almost certainly be bid on before their 1st pick - getting to pick 3 effectively gets them 2 top 10 caliber kids instead of just the 1.

If Scrimshaw hasn’t got a game by now then he’s either a massive bust, he has attitude issues, is lazy or Dew thinks /knows he’s leaving and won’t play him.
Yes he’s building, yes he’s a project player, yes he’s building his tank but he’s in the NEAFL and we are playing some boys who aren’t close to being ready ahead of him.
It’s a mystery.
Where does “attitude issues” come from? he lost his 49 yo Auntie suddenly, is 19yo, moved interstate with no friends and family, suffered a fractured cheek and concussion...every game hes played in the NEAFL he has either been in the best or close to it...he hits targets, doesnt turn the ball over like most others and is all class!

Scrimshaw, Brodie and Ainsworth were best friends right? I think that was part of the reason they got drafted together. I agree his progression is good but it’s the rumours of him wanting to go home after 2 years with 2 years left on his contract that has me concerned

Dew wants full on tackling and effort in front of disposal efficiency and good decision making and that is what he wants to build his foundation on...its why Hall and others are out of favour for now...thats his call we hope they all step up but noone can question his plan...u wont beat the Tigers without 22 desperate and competitive players...

He doesnt want to go home, hes had frustrating set backs and wants to play 1s and do what it takes.

Exactly, every time I watch Scrimshaw at NEAFL I can see his class. He reads game beautifully, makes good decisions and has a great kick. So it takes longer to build his tank. Quite understandable considering his injury history before draft and again bad luck this year. I wish people would get off his back.

You could get McVeigh for nothing as a free agent (Although there is a chance it could affect the compo from Lynch).

As a Swan's fan I would actually accept the trade above.

Sydney: McVeigh, Llyod, Newman, Pick 10

Gold Coast: Pick 3 and Hall.

Highly doubt both clubs would allow it to happen though.

If Lloyd decided he wants to come to the Suns and the Suns want him it would have to be their 1st round pick #10-#12 plus Lloyd for #3 otherwise its a crap deal for the Suns. Sydney would be happy to do that as well because they would only be using the #10-#12 on Blakey. This way they get a top 3 kid plus blakey with their remainder picks
