He actually can, but he stays on your salary cap and you have to pay him.
Obviously, but any contracted player we delist gets counted against the Salary Cap, so it goes without saying that we won't be doing that. I don't personally believe that the Suns are in Cap trouble, I think there was a misinterpretation of where there current management would like the Cap to be and 2019 payments didn't fit that frame. Without Lynch, that situation evaporates, but at the skinny end of the Cap there's only $600K either side of 100% you can go and if you're over one year you have balance it the following season.

When you are starting from scratch as a club you have to make some tough decisions.

The need to rookie contracted players may come down to what happens with players like Leslie, Lonergan, Nicholls, May and KK and maybe even Lyons during the trade period (I would throw Lemmens and Schonefeld in this bracket but with 2 years left on their deaks who are we kidding).

Personally can't believe they are looking at GHS - I don't think he could even muster a top 3 result in the Cats VFL B&F and is soooo slow. Miles is just a better version of him and we only need 1 more of this type.

Lyons is going nowhere. He’s wanting to buy a home after his wedding in November.

They're not really similar.

Here, you think they're asking too much for Brodie.

In the McGovern threads, it's broke ass Carlton supporters thinking they can get McGovern for a second rounder and a packet of chips.

Both delusional, but in different directions.

Don't disagree at all mate.

Lyons is a great little player for us and I think the knock on him being slow is unfair because he's an in and under guy who competes for the ball at ground level. When the play gets away from stoppages Lyons can appear a bit pathetic when the ballplayers dart away from him, but at least he's making the effort with tackling, shepherding and making 2nd and 3rd efforts. He's very much a part of our midfield, but we have to stop thinking of the mids as a ruck with 2 followers and a centreman. The midfield also consists of 3 blokes on the bench plus the wingers and flankers, and a player like Lyons needs to be used in bursts instead of being run into the ground until the opposition runs over the top of us. Hence the call for players who can play multiple positions and the recruitment of a specialist kicking coach.

I don’t care what they say about you “17er” I like all your content and every teams page needs some bulls with grunt in their posts and you know what’s going on!

It doesn't go without saying because it has been done before. If you have the cap room it's a viable option if you need the list spot for a top 30 pick

Watching the U17 game

If we get #1 pick next year it will be a very easy decision - Rowell is an absolute beast midfielder - Selwood / Oliver type.

Ace looks like a good prospect for us next year.

After the recruiters saw this game they would think twice about trading May for unders and giving up a top 5 pick for next year

Rowell does resemble a young Michael Voss as one of the commentators mentioned. Very much a boss around the stoppages. Looks a star now. Also liked the look of Sharp and Pickett from WA, Brodie Kemp from Bendigo, and our two boys didn’t appear out of place at all.

Tell Melbourne GC want pick 5 for May and they can have pick 17/18 and pick 26 back , don't bother about pick 9 and 10 .

Sharp looked stylish but missed his targets.

Kemp looks a real player and has looked good everytime I've seen him this year.

I think thats a good deal what you put foward but not sure if melbourne would go for that due to list spots available to them
#9 on its own would get the deal done for May i think

Lions will pay overs for Neale (picks 4, 22), Freo will pay overs for Hogan (picks 5, 6), Demons will pay overs for May (pick 4 or 5 minimum). I would be shocked is Suns accept pick 9. It's not like May hates Suns, he for sure can give 1 more year service to Suns. Considering that next year pick 2-5 is likely even pick 5-6 alone is possibly not enough.

If the suns do get #4/#5
#2 - Lukosius
#3 - Rankine
#5 - Rozee
#18 - Stocker
# Points - Scott

Thats a good start for a new future
Like this other than Rankine. Put Smith in there instead IMO

There's more to the story. May is flexing his muscle to show the club that he won't be pushed around. Remember, it was May's idea to wait until mid 2017 before deciding to extend by 2 years. Then Lynch came along with his bullshit campaign and then the club put the squeeze on May 12 months before he was prepared to make the decision to extend past 2019. Again, there's much more to the story, but basically May is standing his ground in a clear signal that he won't be pushed around.

No doubt. It should be fun next 3 weeks.

Just like GC want Weller , if Melbourne want May they need to get pick 5 . Going for pick 9,10 are just like Clayton trading multiple second Rd for future 1st that Fremantle don't want . This Draft are all about the top 8 and after that pick 9 -pick 18 are like Bonar, naugton , O Brien vs Higgins, ed richards , Zac Bailey .

Hearing some great rumours at a GF party from people that know people in the industry.

Martin to essendon
May to Sydney

Gold coast cleaning house of seniors not committed and aiming to bring in 4 top 10 picks.

Port supposed to play a big part in this.
It is just rumors but seems like this trade period could throw up anything.

You are not a realist mate , May is not worth a #5 in a trade
Just because you might get a good compo does not mean thats his value this year he will be 27 years old only played 120 games injured and suspensions. You would be furious if your team payed a top 5 pick
