http://www.gwsgiants.com.au/news/2018-03-23/lobb-to-lead-ruck-as-giants-finalise-22

Lobb has been chosen ahead of fellow ruckman Dawson Simpson as the GIANTS named their final 22 for Sunday afternoon’s blockbuster.

Lobb’s selection follows an injury-interrupted pre-season for the 25-year but a strong performance for the GIANTS’ Reserves a fortnight ago and a solid block of training has seen the West Australian given the nod by coach Leon Cameron.

“It was a really tough decision in match committee as Dawson Simpson has put in a terrific summer on the track.

“Both guys have developed a really good connection with our midfielders but Lobby will get first opportunity against the Bulldogs.

“Rory’s last six weeks of training and been really impressive, he did what was asked of him in the practice match a fortnight ago and is ready to go for Sunday.”

The 207cm West Australian is no stranger to the role of leading the ruck with Lobb finishing the 2017 season as ruck due to injury making Shane Mumford unavailable.

Following Mumford’s off-season retirement, Lobb will be looking to continue his impressive form from the semi and preliminary final which saw him average 35 hit outs per game.

Was there ever any doubt? Simpson is and always will be a depth player

Final decision to make for the weekend. Glad I have until tomorrow night to decide

Sicily vs Lobb :think::think::think:

Leon Cameron in yesterday's press talk regarding Lobb vs Simpson: "won't be both, will be one or the other"

Even though doesn't mean much, Pettraca named HFF, ANB in mids.....maybe ANB takes viney's spot?
Think Petracca will rotate thru mid / hff ......most mids do, that or off HB

No pressure ......just don't pick the wrong one !!!!!

Do I keep this forward line:
Franklin Dalhaus McClean D. Smith (Ruck Gawn/Martin)

Or trade Dalhaus or McClean bring in Dunkley and upgrade (Ruck to Gawn/Ryder)

No ragrets :'(

Went super conservative for the mids crouch, Neale, Mitchell, coniglio etc.. high floor low variance kind of guys

So I wanted a POD forward

Had hogan until now hoping he could raise his floor to 70s and pump out regular 120s

Switching over to Lobb! If he plays more ruck and Patton plays more forward (surely) he will score 80 - 120 weekly. Surely.
Just got to pray he doesn’t get rested too often.

I'll just leave this here...

BEWARE ......GWS are desperate for Rucks ....Lobbs is under-done ...wait a couple of games for him to run into form

This from a Coach that had him most of the PS

Anyone got any thought on the JS and SP of Tim English? Surely more attractive than non ruck fwd rookies...... right?

Doesn't sound under-done to me?

Coach Speak

My forwardline. Hoping Martin gets a lot of midfield time this season, especially early with Hall, Hanley and Barlow out. I've been keen on Lobb for a while so I'm hoping he is over that groin issue. No Simpson seems to suggest he should be good to go. I traded McLean -> Lobb less than an hour before last nights game and I still want McLean but i just can't fit him in.

A wet first game doesn’t really suit jack. Could definitely pull a 50.

seriously need your help bros
after not saving changes before the game last night i'd lost my creativity to get D.Smith in (i know he's not a premo but whatever)
I now have 170k surplus and enough salary cap for any 3 fwds.
Im locking in buddy (its a rollercoaster i cannot miss out on, who else is going to be on 25 at 3qtr time and end up on 95?)
so can have any other two forwards..currently heeney and greene but cant bring myself to keep heeney

Thoughts on Menegola and Billings? dont care about menegolas price. other option is Gray and take garletts score..
