I want WC to win but I am watching the game with a WC supporter who sat in my reserved seat 2 years ago and barracked for St Kilda and then after the game said "wasn't it wonderful to see them win"......

So a small part of me wants Collingwood to win so I can return the favour.

Anyway i'm going for the Pies. My mum goes for them, dad has dementia and it seems to have just started that shitty last stage. So she could probably do with a bit of something to cheer about.

First goal: Jamie Cripps
Half time leader and margin: Collingwood by 11
Sprint winner: Who's in it? Why would anyone care after the year a taxi driver won it?
Premier and margin: Collingwood by 4
Norm Smith: Scott Pendlebury

Wanting the Eagles to win. I seriously don't get the notion that Victorians have to get behind the Victorian team. Especially when the Victorian team is Collingwood. In the last four years I've fallen into tipping Sydney, West Coast, Sydney and Adelaide. Not falling into the interstate again. Collingwood will win because it's at the MCG. Would be nice for Simmo to snare a flag as coach. But I'm a bit over North guys like Simmo, Horse and Clarko coaching flags elsewhere as much as seeing Gibson, Hale, Brown, Mooney, Pickett, Pike and now maybe Greenwood playing in flags away from North.

Basically, the end of today's game will be like the end of the Truman Show. Will be fascinated in what happens, but as soon as it's over I'll be like "Meh" and switch my attention to something else without really caring.

Bathurst nek week

Correct. The hundreds of millions Eddie has spent on him counts for nought.

Actually its not a bad article. I don't mind it when a ****wit comes to terms with themselves and develops a bit of humanity. There are some genuine life lessons there about trusting your subordinates to do their job properly and letting go of that intense lust for a result and just acting for the sake of acting in the moment.

I know its important to keep track of little details when you run an organistation but that level of micromanagement - caring about who folds the towels (not just that they are folded by someone and that situation is sorted) is a waste of brain space and energy that could be spent on more useful work.

On a level playing field, Buckley would have been out of a job 3 years ago.

He can thank Eddie & the Collingwood chip stack for everything.

Wat has grated me this week is hearing about Geoff Walsh and wat he has done

Is it a case of right time and place or has he something that we somehow missed in his most recent time with us?

The only real difference is that Collingwood have much greater midfield depth on their list. That's pretty much it. We play a similar game plan and do have similar structures. We seem to be having a similar ruthless assessment at the end of this season as the Pies had last year but more like its directed at our list which is really lacking depth.

Despite Buckley doing well in 2012 Scott has coached better than him until this year imo anyway - he's done more with less over that time. That's one of the reasons Collingwood and Buckley's coaching have copped so much scrutiny and criticism. So I'd say its more likely right place and right time than anything else.

wish it was North in the Grand Final (maybe next year)
its not a game day without:

True, but there is no level playing field. I agree and frankly would have sacked him ages ago if it was down to me.

But if that article is accurate in the changes he has made to his personal style of coaching, and its not just a flash in the pan, then he may turn out to be a good coach for a few years now.

It's frustrating. In the last two years we've seen teams stick by a spud coach, laying out his weaknesses before him, making him change and they get to a Grand Final the next year. On the other hand, at the end of 2013 the Eagles move a coach on and within two years the new guy has them the Grand Final. At the end of 2014 the Dogs do the same and win a flag two years later.

We've stuck by the coach and I'm genuinely optimistic about our future. But I'm so jealous that teams and coaches we've mocked are getting to the big day and we're not.
