Murphy on leadership group:

Marc really worked into this interview well.
Loved listening after about the three minute mark.

Surprised at the amount of 'leaders' we have. 1 chief for every 4.5 indians.
Too many? Who knows?.........Good interview Marc.

Many fans have been critical of Murphy as skipper but I don't think you can argue against the fact that once again he has been endorsed by the entire club to be the captain. Obviously behind closed doors he has been an exceptional leader and mentor for the younger guys. It seems that in every interview with a young player they highlight Murphy as someone who has had an enormous impact on their development.

I am confident, however, on that Docherty will be an exceptional captain in future years. By the sounds of it his tactical nous and ability to explain gameplans to others is well beyond his years. Could go down as one of Carlton's greats in the future. Good signs ahead.

You would have to think ASOS starts in the backline but maybe he’s going to be like Dennis last year and have a leadership role across the vfl team.

Who’s the forward leader???
Cripps - he's everywhere :-)

Is anyone else pretty shocked that Murph is going into his sixth year as skipper? Think I'm getting old :(
Yep, seems like he only got the job a couple of years ago.

Been overseas.

Why aren't Gibbs and Armfield still in the leadership group?

What I miss?

:p
Armfield was liberated to concentrate on his CHB duties, whilst Gibbs wanted to retain his role but the club had already taken a stand against commuting leadership via the Trigg precedent.

No surprise with Murphy getting the nod, IMHO Doc would have got the gig if not for the knee injury

A little surprised with ASOS, but just shows that he is highly regarded by the coaches and players.

Plowman is a great addition

There will be a dramatic change to that leadership group next year

Blues back Murphy as skipper

half of em about to head off for a brew - one last shot fellas.........simmo "ffs!"

"Carlton are something of an unknown quantity heading into the year with a number of talented youngsters still requiring time to build the strength to become consistent performers."

Is it just a coincidence that in all the photos of the leadership group that Cripps is either the closest to Murphy or on his right hand side? Skipper next year.

I think I need to get some rest I may be reading into this to much
