Charlie Spargo is a jet, his old man played for North but not enough to qualify for FS selection, I've heard that North are keen on him anyways so I hope they do pick him up. Should be a F/M too.

Surely we learnt enough about North rookies this year...

Gotta take each rookie on face value. If the guy can find the ball and he ends up at a club like North who have a giant contested ball winning hole in their midfield, then you gotta at least have a look.

Currently my favourite rookie prospects are:

Defenders: Hunter Clark, Noah Balta, Ben Paton
Midfielders: Luke Davies-Uniacke, James Worpel, Oskar Baker, Tim Kelly
Forwards: Jaidyn Stephenson, Jack Higgins, Liam Ryan

Hoping that Jye Bolton, Jordan Keras, Tom Atkins, Haiden Schloithe, Liam Ryan, Tim Kelly and Dom Barry are all AFL bound as mature-aged players.

Out of Geelong's picks, I do like L. Fogarty but think there'll be better rookies out there.

Constable & Miers I wouldn't touch in SuperCoach either.

I'm not going to call him a lock yet, but watch Tim Kelly's JLT series very closely. Mature-age (23) midfielder who finished runner up in the Sandover Medal. Remember how well Menegola went for Geelong & Supercoach when being a mature age recruit from the WAFL? Apparently is a Daniel Wells type midfielder, so hopefully he is that silky just without all the injuries. Watch this space.

Hartung at North and Garlett at Carlton are we interested (price depending)
I highly doubt Hartung will be priced as a rookie, instead he'll be priced at his 2017 average. And it's not like Hawthorn didn't give him chances, either.

Garlett, again depends on the price. At the basement price he's intriguing, but I'm skeptical he will be. Plus he was apparently kinda s**t at WAFL level, so it remains to be seen whether he'll get back to his potential.

Coffield and Higgins probably the other two ultra reliable picks outside of mature agers.

Ablett - Pendles - Selwood - Fyfe - Bont - Coniglio - LDU

With the rest to be filled out after NAB.

Higgins not enuff if any mid time at tiges

Nathan Murphy from the Pies. Pick 39 but was predicted by many to go in the first round, and will be cheap.

Unlikely to play early, but if he continues to improve on his exposed form, could be one of our early downgrades.

Absolute steal.

Beautiful kick

Was never going 1st rd tho

180k rookie

No thx

If i do take 150k+ rookies i want them to be at a bottom club.
Watch list for NAB or w/e it's called now.

Bottom shmottom.... if there named and do well they get to keep there spot no matter where ther team is on the ladder. Even Rossy Lion may learn this in 2018

I prefer their is a greater opportunity for rookies so unless they are a stand out in the preseason or a ready made mature ager i look towards
the bottom dwellers usually.

Taranto last year was a good example, went against my usually thinking by starting him and i sold him early-mid season when he seemed to be puttering along.
Bad call as he only made about 100k at the time and slowly put on more money later, hate having a starting rookie who's traveling mediocre still
by mid season.

That extra money from 117-123k to 180-210k is so hard to make up in terms of the points needed to make
acceptable money on top of initial investment that you really need to hit those expensive rookies spot on.
