I reckon I’ll pick Ablett, Fyfe, Pendles and Selwood over Dangerfield. I reckon I’ll get similar production from Fyfe to Danger.
I think it’s dangerous not putting Dangerfield in. Ablett unlikely to play enough games to justify selection for mine. I’m starting Fyfe and Danger at this stage.

A person I know in the Geelong footy club reckons Gaz is fit as a fiddle, main reason he didn’t play games last year because of what was going on with his sister.

But at 34 it is a risk, I’d have to look at their fixture to see when and where they go interstate.

Yo Here2tellyouwhy is Yeo still gonna be a high flying janitor again next year? Or is he gonna have to play in the middle because all your old midfielders have turned to dust?

Redden and Sheed replace Priddis and Mitchell as the extractors.
Duggan and Ah Chee move into their roles along with Shuey and Venables as outside mids.

There's a chance Yeo gets played on the ball a bit more but I can't see Simmo trying him there all game. It's been done. The guy is a AA half back. Pretty sure Simmo isn't stupid enough to ruin that.

Also I think the fact Yeo is a straight DEF means you pick him knowing youll get a 100 average or worst case a 90+ which is pretty much still elite. Add his age bracket and potential to improve, coming off an AA year.
Lock that mofo in IMO.

Hope you're right.
Toast actually have a lot of could be SC relevant players this year.
Ah Chee could be good if he gets a discount + DPP.
Seems like Venables is a pretty likely type for round 1 too.
Could Liam Ryan and Willie Rioli be there at the start of the year?

Many Players drop back after their biggest season sc ave.
He was also on a contract year, every bloody superstar goes bananas in their contract years lately.
Has my thinking about Sloany but unsure of Gibbs.

More attention.
Other teams will review your last 11 weeks of tapes and clear as day Dusty was the one that turned the game, especially his work running off his man through half forward.
Can't tag him out a game but you can stop some of his work late in the game when all those juicy scaling points are up for grabs.

Not sure what his final average was but I'd expect a 110-115 next year.
No reason not to pick him but you can probably get him cheaper around the byes. With a harder draw you guys won't be on 11 wins. Maybe a slow start like last year then hit the finals with a string of wins at the G.

Richmond have a pretty sweet draw considering they won the flag, their first half of the year is rather tasty from what iv seen.

Fair enough.
Refreshing to see an oppos view that isn't just "Party boi premiership hangerover!! You'll come 9th lol".

I'll be picking Dusty, barring disaster.
Last year he was finally able to start regularly running out games, but Dimma was using him as a HBFlanker and his touches didn't amount to much.
Then this year, when he actually had some support he was still able to rack up touches through the middle and have them be meaningful.

I'll be locking in Danger, Dusty and TMitch from the get go and watch them rack up 100 touches between them every week.

Big money tho.

Track Devon Smith guys, Will go from 50/50 FWD/Mid to 80/20 Mid/Fwd.

Also I think Zerrett will get more game time forward and less behind the ball.

Goddard may also play the sweeper QB role for us, May get a lot of uncontested marks and kicks.

Best mid pricers would be Parish and Langford.. Oh and McGrath could just go bang, has a very fantasy friendly game style.

As for our rooks, Begley, Mutch, Ridley, Redman(Roughie) and Francis (finally) the ones to watch out for.

Docherty going down, Gawn/NicNat cheap in the ruck and the low stock forwards should allow for a more stacked starting mid approach like this season.

Spot on.
Rucks only a bit over 1mil for the whole line.
Stuff all expensive Fwds.
May as well use the extra cash to lock away guaranteed big scorers from the get go.

Reckon quite a few will get done in this year by stocking up on sub-premos hoping they emulate the likes of Oliver and Kelly.

I did that last year ......FAIL !!

Pendles, Rocky, Sloane, Ablett ......all fail !

This year, going to slowly build team, concentrating on "form" over "reputation" ......form in 2018 will be different to form in 2017

Thoughts on McGrath ? .....mainly midfield ?

Zerrett to be tagged more in 2018? .....ala Sloane?

Yeah Andy will play mostly off the Wing for mine, He will still play some games in defence as he's so good back there but 80+ average wouldn't surprise me.

I think we will have high possesion counts all year as well it's our style.

Merrett will get a little attention not to dissimilar to this season, I think his average will drop overall but will have a bigger impact on games more low 90s but a few big 150s would be my guess for Zachy.

Am I the only person who watches Parish play and thinks “this bloke was a top 10 pick”? Really don’t see anything in his game that’s screams elite afl player.

Essendon need a big bodied midfielder badly. Got a potential bargain with the Stringer deal but IMO Matt Kennedy would’ve been much better suited than their recruits.

Hope people pick Parish as a forward, pretty certain he won’t go 85+.

I rate Parish highly.

AFL stars are back in training and the 2018 SuperCoach pre-season has gone up another gear with the release of all player positions for next season.

There have been some big changes after Champion Data assigned positions to every player on an AFL list based on data about where on the field they played last year.

SUPERCOACH STAR: WHERE WILL ROCKLIFF PLAY IN 2018?

Some of the most popular players of 2017 will be harder to pick next season and others have jumped into the selection frame for Australia’s biggest fantasy sports game.

Let’s start with the bad news.

Magpie Taylor Adams, who was the second-top scoring defender of 2017, is available for selection as a midfielder only next year.

Top-scoring forward Jack Macrae has also lost his dual-position status and can only be picked in the midfield.

Jack Steele (mid only), Jake Lloyd (defender only) and Lions pair Alex Witherden (defender only) and Jarrod Berry (mid only) are among the other players to lose DPP eligibility for 2018.

And we’ll have to find a new ruck strategy with former ruck-forwards Toby Nankervis and Paddy Ryder now only available as rucks. Even Docker Luke Strnadica, who didn’t play a game but was a popular bench option, has lost his DPP eligibility.

There are also a number of pure position changes.

Elliot Yeo was classified as a mid-forward last season and averaged 103 points. Next year he is a defender.

Kangaroo Shaun Higgins has moved from a forward to a midfielder, ex-defender Zak Jones is also a midfielder and Blues recruit Matthew Kennedy may have lost some of his appeal after Champion Data changed his position from forward to midfielder.

One move SuperCoach players won’t mind is Port Adelaide star Robbie Gray. A former popular selection as a mid-forward, Gray slipped off the fantasy radar as a mid-only in 2017. But he is set to return with a bang next year after being classified as a forward.

Gray copped a shock cancer diagnosis in October, but has resumed running and is expected to join full training after Christmas.

The ranks of new dual-position players are headed by Geelong’s Sam Menegola, who averaged 100 points a game as a midfielder in 2017 and can now be picked as a mid-forward.

Chad Wingard, Travis Boak, Isaac Heeney, Will Setterfield and Michael Barlow may all attract interest as new mid-forwards, along with veterans Dale Thomas, Daniel Wells and David Mundy.

Surprise Carlton recruit Jarrod Garlett is set to be a popular pick after being classified as a mid-forward.

Another player with added flexibility is Docker Michael Walters, who averaged 111 points during a nine-week purple patch from Rounds 7-16 last year. He’s a mid-forward for 2018.

SuperCoach players committed to a ruck-forward swing can look to Demon Cam Pedersen, Collingwood big man Mason Cox — flagged for a more prominent role next year by coach Nathan Buckley — and Bulldog Tim English.

There are also plenty of DPP rookies including Tigers Jack Higgins and Patrick Naish (mid-forwards), Magpie Nathan Murphy (defender-forward), Carlton’s Lochie O’Brien (defender-mid), Pie-cum-Giant Lachlan Keeffe (defender-forward), Port Adelaide’s draft steal Sam Hayes (ruck-forward) and Brisbane academy star Connor Ballenden (forward-defender).

And SuperCoaches will be relieved to note Luke Dahlhaus, Jordan de Goey and late-season bench saviour Tarir Bayok have all retained mid-forward status for 2018.
