Good God, another rebounding defender. What is wrong with us?
We could use a replacement for Dickson(Ben Skol) or another tall defender for depth, but we go a rebounding defender that we are overloaded at.

Looked like there was quite a few players who were on everyone’s wish list still available and we go for another general defender when we have so many already on our list we can’t fit them in the team.

Would have preferred a wing or maybe even backup Ruck.

Although our list is pretty well balanced so there weren’t too many glaring needs other than small forward.

General defender as a category means nothing. He played for a very powerful Sandy side with a strong midfield. Wouldn't be surprised to see him develop as a mid/winger.

Kid has put his best foot forward and done what none of us have done, gotten drafted to an AFL Club. Good luck to him and I hope he kills it. Good ball user is the key here. Playing as a defender in junior football doesn’t automatically mean he’ll stay there at AFL level.

Don't think so. Think we might be done for the list. Got 39 on the SL and 5 on the RL (Young, Gardner, RSmith, Sweet and Khamis). Might have a pick left if Khamis is still regarded as a category B rookie

Has anybody on here actually think we see Butler as a wingman and not a defender? Just because he plays in the back half as a junior doesn't mean he plays as a defender in the AFL.

Posted about him a few days ago. Someone I'd play on a wing. Has that speed and endurance. Will let off a few picks that'll frustrate the fans. Rarely chooses to handball which is a change

I don't get why everyone's up in arms so much. It's a pick outside of the top 50, where clubs usually go for more riskier prospects with higher ceilings than guys who are better than now but have lower ceilings.

That’s good then..... I think we could do with someone who can play on the wing. He seems to have good endurance so maybe that’s the plan for him.
We have a good recruiting team so I know they must have seen something they really value. I hope he does well, I’m sure we will all be cheering him on.

Because every pick counts.
We have had 3 AA as Cat A rookies in recent memory (MBoyd, the glove and JJ) so yeah you can find quality players even in the 3rd round.

I'll be the odd one out and say I like the selection, not that I knew anything about him before tonight.

Watching his highlights he weights his kicks well, is always looking for the best option and provides run out of defence. So he's a taller version of Caleb, which is what everybody has been saying they want. He can run all day too. What's there not to like?

Also Bevo probably saw that he was rated above average for versatility so he would have been a lock.
