He's done an outstanding job.

Has received a lot of unjustified criticism because of an impatient supporter base and reporters looking for a headline.
Hindsight drafting is easy and trading is easy, any muppet can do it. Show me a list manager that has nailed every pick, every rookie and every trade.
I for one have been ecstatic with the job he’s done, all we need now is lots of luck and hopefully the stars align for a flag or two.

Darcy Parish dropped again.

I'd be circling him. Has the potential to be an elite wingman. Out of contract at the end of the year.

Still believe he would be a perfect replacement for Murphy.

This is the first time in a long time that I believe we've got a core group that can make us a top 4 team.

Strong spine and strong midfield.

The other stuff can be filled relatively easily.

Ermmmmmm....well...do we really want blokes that get dropped. I think that says something.

Liam Stocker will be our version of Jack Viney with a much better kick.

I know he's playing in defense at the moment, but I don't think SOS made that trade to pick Stocker as a half back. He'll push into the centre as he gains more experience.
If we have a Viney type on our hands (the pre injury Viney) then I’ll be Stoked!

When the player is Darcy Parish, the answer is yes.

I'm fairly confident he'll do what Jack Billings has done this season. There will be a point where everything clicks for him and he'll be considered an A grade midfielder.

If Essendon trade him, they'll regret it.

It's so ridiculous that SOS cops shit at all - he has done an outstanding job given his circumstances.

The 'LOL GWS REJECTS' argument is so dumb, seriously. When GWS and GC came into the competition that meant an extra 60 kids were getting drafted - 60 kids that 16 other clubs didn't have access to and would've loved to. So when some leakage from these 50 odd players comes into play down the track why the **** wouldn't you swoop on them? The fact the media often can't even pick up on this is baffling. It's common sense surely? The 50 extra players meant the rest of the draft pool was diluted so to try and get some gain out of it you get the players back down the track for a discount.

You are correct in saying that list managers never get everything right. Richmond traded pick 19 for Yarran , and won the flag the next year. Throughout their journey they recruited blokes like Troy Chaplin, Chris Knights, Steven Morris, Sam Lonergan, Orren Stephenson, Shaun Hampson, Matt Thomas, Anthony Miles, Taylor Hunt, Ben Griffiths - the list goes on. And SOS cops flak for getting some 21 yr old former first round picks from GWS.

Hits and misses are all part of the journey and atm SOS has plenty of hits, and will have some misses down the track. He is working insanely hard though and reckon he knows his stuff inside and out. One thing he needs to fix is the late gems in the draft.

Fair enough I will take your word for it Eiffel 65 as I dont follow other teams progress or lists enough to even know. I havent even looked at the ladder as yet and 5 rounds are gone. I will look at it when it matters....sooner than we thought perhaps.
Didn't even know which team this Parish is at........ :)

Respectfully disagree! He’s a one boring one paced mid with no tricks.Honestly, being serious, I’ve seen better mids in the VAFA and VFL.

Very well put!
On late draft gems ......Tom Williamson......doesn’t get much better than that imo

Billings has so many more tricks and much more class than Parish. Cant see him making that leap. Just don't see anything significant in Parish worth pursuing, especially with Dodoro on the other side.

The most important and number one item on the agenda is DEVELOPMENT!
Are we seeing the first signs that our development system is working? Still not keen on Fraser just the same.

Should we have preferred Sydney stack over cotterell?
I’m thinking yes!
There’s that hindsight drafting again.
Would you have preferred Parish and Francis over Harry and Charlie?
Can’t get them all right, let’s be happy that sos gets the important ones right.
Also much to early to tell who’ll be better.

Shai Bolton would be one player who would make a lot of sense for us, plus he played in the WA side with SPS and Fisher, would add the speed we need up forward and I would doubt Richmond could ask for more than a 3rd round pick given where he is in their pecking order.

He's out of contract the end of the year, so you'd think he'd be starting to look around.

Tiggs have a pretty good record of supporting players seeking opportunities elsewhere who aren't getting a regular spot. You'd imagine a 3rd rounder would just about do the deal, with maybe a bit of shuffling of lower picks.

Not sure I would call it hindsight drafting as his talent was well known. For me, I would have thought that's exactly the type of player you target in the rookie draft or equivalent. Even more of a no brainer when his type is exactly what we need. Reports of his work ethic since arriving would suggest all clubs got it very wrong regarding any character assessment.

I don't think the club burnt that bridge, Garlett did that on his own

Shame, as he would have been handy at the moment

Watching him run out tonight for The Dees, I'd say Jeffy is cooked (if not, well seasoned)

Happy to plunk Murphy most of the time up the Wing/Half Forward flank and almost become our default crumbling forward.

In my opinion, Marc Murphy's best value for us these days is as a stay roaming goal kicker, and may well prolong his career a year or two.

Same mental game though. Def pass from me.
