Fremantle Dockers start pre-season training: 5 things we noticed
https://www.watoday.com.au/sport/af...ning-5-things-we-noticed-20181120-p50h3y.html

A Prestipino piece, but with some input, including the final sentences, from our mate Hackdorn;
" Hagdorn ... said he was mostly impressed with Fremantle's first full training session of the pre-season.
"They had 38 players in training ... they are big numbers, and they've still got four draft picks coming up," he said.
"So the club has only a few players on the sidelines, so a solid early pre-season for most of them should give them every chance to improve on the previous seasons." "
WOW complimented us!

I met a few of the boys at Gang of Youths a few weeks back. Logue happened to be behind me at the bar. I told him good luck for the season and that. Was really surprised how much he was willing to talk to me as well. He is an absolute beast of a human being too. Seems like Lobb has slotted in seamlessly as Logue had a dig at him saying he needs to kick 60 or he's paying for the end of season tickets. We mainly talked about Gang of Youths, but was nice to have a quick few words with them and see that they're keen.

I think I read somewhere that Lobb and Logue are living together. Both Swan Districts boys but the age difference is too big for them to have played any juniors together. Wonder if they knew other beforehand.

They definitely seemed very chummy. Never a bad thing when a new bloke fits in so easily.

I'd expect Logue and Lobb may have an opportunity to mix it up at training. There is enough of a mismatch between them for a faster and more athletic player like Logue to create an advantage, and for a better marking, taller man like Lobb to also win out. Would be a good session to watch I think to get a measure on how their seasons may go for us.

Kersten and Ballantyne the only ones not training?

Aah yes poor Ballas and family, I saw there is now an issue about having to remove a cross for his brother from the roadside. Very sad, I hope he can get back into it when it feels right again.

I was right at the front for the Saturday gig, was epic! Shame I didn’t see any of the freo lads though!

I Ran into Tabs and a couple other Dockers in a tent at Octoberfest(MUNICH) a few months back. We all got along really well and spent the day on the steins. A couple of them were absolute champion blokes. I was incredibly suprised to see him run in the GF sprint only 3-4 days later. Hell of a day on the gas.

I suppose, a stein for you and me would be a pintglass for Tabs given that he'd have more blood to dilute with alcohol and bigger liver/kidneys (presuming a bigger size means they can process more?) etc.

Andre the Giant as an example...

To be completely honest the freo boys were fairly well behaved while still enjoying themselves. They Only had a handful of steins. Though I did share a pack of darts with one of the lads, bloody good day it was.
