I tipping tabs to be the first player to kick 100 goals at Peel this year

An increase of 75 goals from our leading goal kicker over the last two seasons  I'm happy with forty from our top goal kicker this season. That's not a high expectation at all, but it's still hopeful.

Tabbs is starting 22.

Hogan has no fitness and needs to earn his spot.

If Hogan is fit he doesn't need to earn his spot - he is a lock. He can play anywhere in the front half

There is still a spot for Tabs even with Hogan and Lobb. Just not sure if it also means Cam and Cox can both fit into the side as well.

It's funny how most on here thought Taberner was a spud and called him 'craberner', and now he's best 22 even with Jesse Hogan in the side. He's come a long way.
A lot may have forgotten his on field brain farts but RTB definitely would not have. Most frustrating player on our list is Tabs. Looks elite one minute then makes a decision like he is playing u10s the next minute.

Starting 3 forwards will be Lobb Cox & Dardy until Hogan is available

Most frustrating? A rookie pick KPF?

Harley Bennell.

Surely!

At least Taberner won't die wondering about the effort he has put in.

McCarthy and Tucker could compete as well. The difference with Taberner is that he has an upward trajectory, so leaves you optimistic.

Rubbish.

So when Lobb goes into the ruck Cox is our only marking target in the front half..... yeah that worked so well back in our last window! Pav who was a superstar of the comp struggled in that role when Clarke went into the ruck, you think a 3rd year player in Cox will do much better? Dardy couldn't reliably take a contested mark to save his life, he isn't a kpf.

How hard is following the traditional setup. 2 KPF's plus a ruck forward.

Lobb gets the ruck forward.
Hogan will get one KPF spot.
Tabs and Cox fight for the other spot. Or both play if hogan is out.

If fumbles McCarthy can get his act together he plays as a medium hff. Then add two small forwards to finish off.

No frustration with those two, you know what you’re going to get, they’re at a consistent level. Whereas Tabs is a tease. Shows little glimpses of what he’s capable of if and when he’s switched on and it’s top level but then he switches off and does stupid shit or lazily kicks out on the full or drops an easy mark etc. Very frustrating!

anyone ever kicked 100 in a game before?

A 14 year old kicked 60 in a local game back in the 60s.

Today that kid would of been playing full back three minutes into the game, in order to protect the opposition player's self-worth.

I have heard from one of the medical staff that he’ll be training fully in January but will obviously need extra fitness work to get to the level required. I hope he was right
If it is just about fitness, and not about the foot, he could play with reduced time on ground, and/or on a modified role.

Because the land of the giants structure worked so well at Peel this year.

When Lobb plays ruck for all of 20-25% of a game we will likely have Mundy sitting up forward with Cox and McCarthy.

Another tall and we lack mobility and forward pressure. And let’s face it if doing a 3 point turn was a good asset for tackling pressure Tabs would be elite.
