My first training session for the year. To be totally honest I did more talking than watching.
Lobb is going to be really good for us, he did some rucking against Darcy and was very good. His second efforts were also impressive .
As everyone has said, Logue looks the goods.
Walters running some laps.
I'm a Cam fan, so could be bias, but he now at least looks like a footy player. He has obviously done a lot of work in the off season.
Noticed Ryan a few times, he is a jet.
Bewley looks AFL standard, but I did not see him do anything outstanding today. [ refer to my second sentence.]
I wasn't sure about Colyer but he looked best 22 today.
Matera did some good things, as well as some average disposal.
Fyfe is a god. Before he was hurt he was just on a different level to anyone else.
Disappointingly I didn't see Hogan and Bennell only made a Brief appearance.
Valente was running laps, he has a Afl body and looks he like he belongs.

Fyfe spoke really well on 6PR and expects Mundy to move back into the guts and AB, Cerra and Conca all to rotate through the middle while Blakely and Hilly make their way back. Still dealing with the bursitis in his elbow so won't be going full tilt at AFLX. Spoke highly of Belly and the impact he's making at the club from both a managerial and leadership POV. Blakely and Holly both to miss the first couple of games, might be available from round 3-4.

Great reports as always. Much appreciated.

What’s up with Valente? Thought he could have been a round 1 bolter but has not been on the park for a while.

Just bumped into Lobb and Logue

Logue is massive. He's bigger than Mundy in height n shoulders plus muscle. If he turns intoa mid he'll be hard to tackle at full tilt.

I saw them both together shopping at the South Freo IGA a few days ago - do they live together?

It's funny - I looked at the both and thought 'they arent as big as I expected' haha

Cam is blacklisted for most training watchers so thanks for the Cam tidbit.

In the photos I haven't looked at Logue and thought he looks huge. I am fine with that too because surely his athleticism is the key to his success and there is a trade off there if you get too big.

Great reports as always. Much appreciated.

I'm hoping we manage our season for long term gain, annoys me watching our team limping at the end.
Valente will get his chance, we need more thinkers , natural footy vs fast headless chooks.

At the harbourmaster function on Friday Valente was one of the guest speakers along with Hamling and Conca.

Valente said he has a lot of work to do physically before playing AFL round 1. Said that they are targeting WAFL round 1.

Rossich also said that Bennell dictates when and how much he participates in training. Said that he is flying and will be predominantly playing forward rather than through the middle.

Liam Henry is touted as a potential top 10 pick and looked more than capable during the match sims. NGA academy paying off

Really? Even from that complimentary angle he still has a lot to go, don't see the wow difference from last year.
Were you expecting him to look Fyfe like a little over a year since he got drafted? He looks taller, bigger through the legs, bigger through the arms, and now looks like an AFL footballer, not a kid who is playing with grown ups (go check out the pics when we drafted him). The haircut does kind of help as well :)

PS. That angle isn't complimentary, if anything it is the opposite. Go check out the photos Brisbane got done if you want to see what "complimentary" angles are, and photography tricks to make guys look like comic book superheroes.

In that shot he's in a grounded stance, of course it's complimentary especially to his legs.

Not comparing him to Fyfe, only to the same guy who was finishing up a season of playing and training just 4 months ago.

Losing two players to the QLD teams, really nothing to complain about as Cerra, Brayshaw are more rounded midfielders
and offer more in the long run.
I think it is a win win situation, and its not like our midfield was dominating after 2015, if anything it was predictable and
stale.
