I think rowell, Weller and another burst midfielder

with Anderson (seems a worker more than explosive to me), Miller, Greenwood wild be the perfect mix.

maybe Flanders becomes that guy.

Flanders has that potential power/speed mix, while Rankine just has flat out burst. We should be hoping they can spend some time in the mids.

But also suspect we are downplaying Ando quite a bit. He is 19 and in the juniors was known for power and burst from stoppage and was considered a more dangerous player than Rowelly. He played every game this year with not much of an AFL tank. It takes a few seasons for juniors to build enough tank that they can use their natural power.

100% agree with Ando, he already has a bit of burst and speed away from the clearance. I can't remember which game it was but he won a centre clearance, fluffed the kick and was the first person out to retrieve his kick. He will be the sort of midfielder we are crying out for

Hi Tom. Is there any truth to the rumblings that 5 SUNS players outside of Wright and Brodie are looking to seek trades this year?
Not that I'm aware of. I think Wright and Brodie would be mutual decisions. Both on good money.

Will brodie to the dons?
They want a big inside mid and Brodie fits that. But plenty are available and not sure he is top of the pile

Hi Tom, where do you think will Brodie and Peter wright will end up?
I think Essendon is the fav for Wright. Brodie would suit the Dons but not sure who else is heavily into him

who's linked to the suns besides atkins?
Atkins will go there, as we reported three weeks ago. 4 year deal on high 400s with a trigger for a 5th. Suns don't have a lot of $$. Nathan Broad has been linked.

yeah, I had not considered the duration of the season and it being only his first pre-season.
Maybe I'm judging him too harshly as I was expecting to see this Patrick Dangerfield level explosive athlete and didn't really see that. Imagine he will only improve with more pre-seasons under the belt though.

More Bont than Danger, fast and smooth but not blow the doors off explosive. Danger is an class of his own when it comes to breakaway pace

How the fu** are we short on money again??? And if we are short on money why is Atkins getting a 4 year deal!!!
And yet Carlton can sign Martin on a million, Williams on $900k, McGovan on $800k and are after others

Apparantely with Carlton, from what I have heard.. they are paying 100% of the cap in 2020) so they can afford more after this year. Apart from Martin (2021 his last year on this $$, I think about $500k the remaining years) McGovern 2021 his last year, whether thats a non negotiable 800k til the end of his contract or its lower in his last year i'm not sure. But apart from Cripps, they have no real other stars. But wouldn't be the first time Carlton has paid players outside the cap. And richmond and Geelong..

yet the suns have no $$.

Crazy.
But offload Wright and Brodie, there would be $$ to spare.

Yes, just watched his draft vault - he was awesome.
Played forward for the first 3? years i think. Then went into the midfield in 2012 and just exploded into a star. I have vivid memory's of him destroying Stephen Hill in a foot race. Hill was bloody quick and Danger just pulled away from him like it was nothing.

Yeah Noah Anderson will be the midfielder we are craving on the market.

He has everything and can do everything.

Let him build up his inside minutes next season and in a few years time him and Rowell will be unstoppable.

Would love Bowes in the midfield too but he seems real happy to be the leader in the back line

I wanna see more Lukosius on the wing next year, he’ll cut open games

Mmm I think you guys are looking into the thoughts of a Victorian journalist too much. If we get Brodie and Wright off the books that opens up almost 1m of wage space right there.
True that we can spend on a Malchesci or Hanley :(

Edit or Atkins

Is the list size contributing to the $$ issue. 31 played this season of 51 thus we paid 20 players who didn’t play . Come next year likely around 45. Can see the quick million gain from Brodie/wright but pending number of games next year, depth could be a key. Players being brought in must be certain senior starters . Surely we don’t pay some of Brodie/Wright salary to offload as that’s not addressing any $$issue. Collins I presume needs a pay upgrade

Perfect mix of inside/outside and has a really strong set of hands overhead. Has a Fyfe-like skill set. Massive potential. Rowell will be our weekly 25 touch 1 goal mid, but Anderson has game changing ability all over him.

From the wafl team of the year, for you peel

CENTRE HALF-BACK – CHAD PEARSON (South Fremantle)
Couldn’t be doing any more to bang down the door to get an AFL opportunity. Had the odd run even in the midfield this season but down back he is outstanding. Can play on some of the better key forwards, is an impressive intercept marker and then his kicking skills coming out of the back-line are really what sets him apart. Averaged another 17.6 possessions a game in 2020 and at just 22, already had 57 WAFL games to his name.
