Game in general's f’ed for the most part, contested and zoned, decreased corridor use and ugly. Not good for the punt. Nights like last night are exceptions, sub 50-60 total at half time is almost the norm these days
Part of the reason I feel with this is we are playing more on 'perfect surfaces' these days.

The best games to watch in my opinion are the games where there is an unknown 'weather' element eg wind, rain, or heavy ground conditions.

Players have become better by use of disposing the ball compared to players in the 90's and early 2000's. Another aspect is the players are better athletes today than they were 20-25 years ago.

The AFL game is become more tactically like soccer, where going backwards is the norm. In rainy conditions, you never kick backwards and gaining metres is considered imperative.

2.5u - English 15+ disposals - $1.91 - SB
1u - English 20+ disposals - $5 - SB
As a big fella, English is actually quite clean with the ball. This year he has battled an injury and splitting time between ruck and forward for periods of games. English has been bullied at times by more developed ruckman in the early stages of career but today should give him the chance to become the bully. His opponent is quite a bit shorter and lighter which should allow him to directly win some of the one-on-one contest and pick up some disposals. He covers the ground well and with the dogs going in with Bruce, Naughton, Ugle-Hagen in the forward line, he should spend majority of his game rucking around the ball. Coming off 22 last week playing as the solo ruck.

3.5u - Viney 20+ disposals - $1.80 - SB/TAB
Has been working back towards full fitness since returning from injury, managed 89% TOG last week. Went to 91% of CBAs last week. Harmes out is another positive for his role. Has averaged more than this in every season since 2015. Hawks a good match up with Pertracca or Oliver potentially copping extra attention today.

Membrey seems to think he’s playing on the wing, get forward and kick a goal campaigner

Metricon pretty windy across the ground, Backing total behinds over 10.5 first half as well as dogs at the minus and 40+ think a handballing tactic suit conditions better and they are already a better team.
