Is Dan Houston the #1 rebounding defender at Port? New rules could be nice for him.

He's got a lot of kids all barking for games. Another reason to be a tad cautious about our rooks. Even moreso than last year...for SC we like to think that if a 1st yr kid does well preseason he'll get games, but Horse also has last yrs kids like Warner, Wicks, Ling, Bell, Stephens, McInerney etc PLUS McDonald Gulden Campbell.
ANDDD
on top of that there are shedloads of best 22 injuries from 2020 coming back in for Rnd 1.
Trying to find spots for an 18yo simply coz he did well in an irrelevant preseason game is not easy...nor will it be easy for them to hold their spot. Saw a bit of that last yr.
AND AND
a cpl of highly respected fringe 22 guys like Fox and Oriordan deserve gametime.

Campbell is long long way from being a sure thing to start. 50/50 at absolute best. I'll stick my neck out and guess 8 games for the season, but not 8 in a row.

Stephens would/should normally start Rnd 1 but may be a causalty to play one of the newbies first up. Unsure why he didnt play. I might check to see if he has a niggle but he isnt relevant to us anyway.
McInerney has a back problem but should be back early-mid season. Impressed everyone last yr and will stroll back into the team when fit.
Of horse wants to win games then Campbell will play. Kid is a genuine freak.

interesting, i dont really want short cause everyone has him now and i feel like houli will affect his score heaps. may go doc now
He averaged 98 if you remove the injury affected match last season where his calf was iced up in the first quarter, so he's unders at the moment. Decent pick

i cant see short getting 43 again this year honestly cant see him averaging 30 touches a game. just think he had his best game of his career and it happened to be the game before round 1 to suck people in. Fair play if you had him in before then but I honestly wasn't even thinking about him for top 6 defs before the weekend.

He did the same thing in the GF though, scored 170 or something, also won the Tigers BnF in a Premiership year. Still young. Houli injured. He's got a lot going for him. But just back your gut, would be a POD not having Short now, so if he fails, you're winning.

Was just about to say it wasn't even his best game from his last few he's played!

I don’t know, his grand final was pretty good.

last years scores were super inflated by scaling especially the 150+ ones. yeah i could look like an idiot if is the real deal though lol

Doch will be a fine pick either way, who knows, Doch might return to his glory days and beat Short. Just go with your gut, it's not too risky either way

Whereas he has been in my side for months and he annoyed me on the weekend with his excellence.

Any danger you watched the grand final last year?

Who else can see that crab newnes going to shorty round 1?

He did a great job on Lloyd in the last half against the swans last year in that role and I don’t think short will escape attention!

Just trying to curb those expectations for those expecting him to go 150+ again
More likely then not he goes sub 100 but as we say it’s a marathon not a sprint

lol I wouldve scored 200+ in that gamne

what a ****en non event

GFs suck unless West Coast are playing. Disagree and Ill fight you

can someone also explain to me why doc only scored 76. He had 21 kicks, he not get many rebounds or butcher it?
7 clangers, 2 of which directly led to goals.

I’m giving Docherty some serious thought. Also thinking a bit about Saad ...

Similar price, similar 2020 average if remove Doc’s injury match.

New rules will probably favour Saad. Maybe Docherty too?

I presume Docherty will be preferred to take kick ins for the Blues. Does anyone know whether he took most of the kick ins in the preseason game? Or are others getting kick ins as well?

Docherty in 8% of teams, Saad in only 5%.
