Cerra is out of contract and has requested a trade. 6 on it's own is about right and SPS is effectively just a roll of the dice on a talented player being wasted by a basket case club playing out of position. Freo won't get much better than that.

Won't argue the Clark + Narkle point though, could probably just about get it done for that 27 pick.

SPS could easily be delisted, so you might as well say pick 6 (which everybody knows will be 8) on its own. We won't take that, I'm all but 100% sure of it.

We'll get somewhere between a 3rd and a 1st with pick 6, likely with some picks swaps to even it out whichever way that needs to happen. I don't know but I hope we don't entertain any of Carlton's fringe players.
 
Carlton get: Cerra, 2nd round pick (Melbourne)
Carlton give: Pick 6, Sam Petrevski Seton, 3rd round pick

Fremantle get: Luke Jackson, Sam Petrevski-Seton
Fremantle give: Adam Cerra, Pick 8, 3rd round pick (Carlton)

Clark is contracted so we might not trade him at all but hes realistically worth a 20s pick and narkle has very minimal trade value so 18 for both of them is fair if we did trade clark.

I'm playing with a collingwood hypothetical.... after completely ballsing up last years trade period I think the pies should be doing everything they can to pinch the #1 pick so they can take horne-francis, prior to the bid on daicos. How you ask? well....

Darcy moore and future 2nd rd pick for gold coast for pick 3, 43,53.

Trade pick 3 and de goey to North for pick 1 and their future 2nd

Effectively out moore and de goey for pick 1 and points to match the daicos bid at pick 2, yeah, the short term hit is obvious. however the extra points mean their first pick next year doesn't slide a couple of places due to a points deficit. They make room this year in their cap for a free agent this year and maybe next.
It is worth keeping in mind that either moore or de goey will likely leave as a FA next year. Which would attract a high end pick, however this would mean they can't go to the FA market themselves (that would potentially cancel out the compensation). as such move them now prior to a year of distracting speculation and let a new coach start with a clean slate and a midfield with a couple of young stars being supported by their current crop and another big body (thinking hewett or crouch).

I thought that might be the case.

But with clark contracted and us having 3 R2s already unless we needed clark out for purely salary cap reasons to trade someone else in (and i doubt clark is on that much $ so i doubt thats the case) then it might need to be that sort of offer. Not saying hes worth that but thats probably what it would take for geelong to feel trading him is worth their while.

Well it would certainly address any cap issues we still have but you are suggesting we trade 2 stars to bring in a player that has the potential to be a star. Why don't we just keep the 2 we have?

St Kilda get: Ben King
Gold coast get: Josh Battle + Pick 9 (and let Seb Ross walk to them)

Possibly even throw in the Ross compo pick

Not even sure why the Pies would be interested in that.

If they finish last next year (got to be a possibility) they get Pick 1, and it would be at that time they let Moore go as a FA and then they get Pick 2.

Essentially get Daicos as a Pick 1 this year, then Pick 1 and 2 next year is a great way to rebuild with top end talent.
