Clubs will know exactly at which pick we can match Fletcher and where we can't.

If a bids before we're able to match, then they get Fletcher.

If a club bids at the earliest opportunity for us to match, then we are wiped out of two drafts, and the hope is we have a couple of decent academy kids we can pick up late in next year's draft.

We took Alex Fasolo with our first selection 12 years ago at Pick 45. From around 2008-2013 we actually took a number of speculative West Australians but none of them turned out any good besides arguably Fasolo. We’ve only taken three West Australians since Fasolo, all late in Marsh (2013), Abbott (2014 RD) and Ruscoe (2019).

Name a top 30 WA player we’ve avoided selecting in the past 5 years who we should have taken. Otherwise, there’s absolutely no evidence to back up what you’re claiming, it’s purely coincidental.

Exactly. Can’t imagine it would’ve been some amazing session either. Would’ve been a light skill session.
