If Essendon enters the fray at the eleventh hour, and the De Goey camp asked for more time to consider, I would walk away within the hour. Yes, I used to rate him the better of the two back when they were both flying. His team, the AA judges and the AFL writers at the Age must have seen something more in him too. That Adelaide midfield was the bench mark in 2017 and the Crouches were a big part of it. They were the best side in footy for a couple of years and favourites to beat Richmond.
