He did exactly that first season in AFL. He was blanketing his opponents weeklyIf he's wanting to prolong his career, he should look to take the Crowley path. Turn himself into one of the leagues most feared taggers.
Belly would hate that.. wasn’t he an avid opposer of Fremantle Oval and it’s substandard ground/pitch? Always said it was hardEvery Wednesday for the foreseeable future according to their sm. I'm assuming some part of their new strategy involves reconnecting with the city
Why would you love around Freo? Practically everything is heritages listed, overpriced and small blocks. Hardly a lifestyle for AFL players. That could very well be true, but I think it would have the double bonus of making the players happier for those that think Cockburn is a shithole. I would guess that many of them live in areas with a pretty long drive to get there (e.g. Bicton is 30 minutes, Cottesloe is 40 minutes). First world problems and I have a longer drive from the hills to the city for my work, but still ...
On a side note, I still don't know why there isn't any proper landscaping with mature plants/trees around the ground? Are they going to build apartments or something like Claremont Oval, so they can't be stuffed making it look like something other than a desolate wasteland?
The Greenies themselves don’t even know.On your first point, you would be surprised how many players live in the Cockburn area. Even Fyfe lives in North Coogee whereas in days gone by players on his coin would be in Cottesloe, Bicton, Attadale etc. That isn't to say none are, but it is easier for the players to live close by.
As for your second point, the long term plan has always been for apartments (at least it used to be but I don't know if it still is) but they need to put the power lines underground first. I honestly think at this stage nobody really knows what they are going to do with the land or have any timeline for anything to be completed.

At the annual Members' Meeting last week Alcock and Garlick spoke of 'putting Freo back into Freo' or words to that effect. Occasional training at Fremantle was mentioned as part of this.So are they training at Freo Oval every week now at least once? I mean that's a nice throwback. Any reason why?
Could be something completely un-footy related. Who knows.Have no idea, but maybe had off-season skinfold targets or running targets that he didn't meet, and he's been told to come back when he has met them?
Probably linked to the Irish guy not coming, the nuclear subs contract and el Nino.Could be something completely un-footy related. Who knows.
Agree. Prior to the first Members' Forum I and others raised the need to make the oval surrounds more user- and visitor-friendly, ideally with plantings, seating, maybe a barbie or two.We need someone who goes to the members meeting on this board to raise it, I know the facility is good but the photos make the place look like a bit of a dump!
Can’t be good for player and staff retention, it’s not the most important thing but people like working where it’s just nice.

Could have an infection or glandular fever or a lump on his something. Hopefully nothing serious.just listened and it was phrased as something "health-related" but not a football injury and he'll be back in a couple weeks.
Hayden Young was part of the talent on show at the Members Meeting and he was referred to as being the weights star in the gym.Could have an infection or glandular fever or a lump on his something. Hopefully nothing serious.

Great move by the club, get the team back to our rootsEvery Wednesday for the foreseeable future according to their sm. I'm assuming some part of their new strategy involves reconnecting with the city
Surprised Lobb hasn't turned up early tbh..
Gees i hope he's all good. He's still my pick to be the best of all our draftees from the last few years
Love the subtle dig at Fremantle council not being able to achieve the same world class facilities in Fremantle. Any forward thinking council would demolish the car park, restructure the Gaol side seating into the facilities professional sport requires. Plus add apartment complex, park to add community feel. Going to pre season training years ago was seating in the old grandstand or standing around the fencing. AmateurishAt the annual Members' Meeting last week Alcock and Garlick spoke of 'putting Freo back into Freo' or words to that effect. Occasional training at Fremantle was mentioned as part of this.
Garlick BTW also emphasised the 'world-class' facilities at Cockburn that the club regrettably would not have been able to achieve in Fremantle and that club is committed to a presence in both locations.
The talk is always about Serong, Brayshaw, Young, Darcy etc and rightfully so, but I think Chapman will one day be our best playerwell ryan daniels was interesting. very big on o'driscoll.
man, the way he talked about chapman. apparently, he just seems a level above everyone at training. also, he never loses a contest.
Facilities for watching training at Cockburn aren’t too flash unless they’ve improved dramatically since I was last there.
And the coffee is awful.
Spoke to the curator down there and that’s the message that he got from Bell. He wanted to get the team back in there once a week. Good for PR. And I can say it’s been good to see the boys walking around Freo getting lunch after training.
