I think it’s pretty safe to say the vAFL will not give a shit about how inconvenienced or disadvantaged the WA clubs will be and will actually revel in the excuse to put the boot in. Which is typical really, just as we’re on the up. I expect lots of unfair bs decisions and honestly, when we win anyway, it’ll be all the more delicious.

Update from Simon Garlick:

TL/DR: we're working on it.

I feel like the club will work something out re exemptions for visiting teams to get home games from the start.

It would be pretty easy to work out and the danger to the community is low risk

About as definitive he can be at this stage I guess. At least they're on the front foot

Importantly its not a "hard" hard border after Feb 5 - you can come in you just need to quarantine for 14 days. We will work something out with the AFL. I'm guessing visiting teams will fly in Friday, quarantine and fly out Sunday and we will be playing a stretch on the road

Well trying to be positive, maybe giving the vic lads plenty of time in Melbourne will scratch any itch of wanting to leave Freo because they haven't been able to see family [emoji1696]

I highly doubt we get a string of games at home to end the season

It's either get exemptions now or play home games away and miss out on them

AFL will have too many other factors like missing players from covid to worry about rescheduling home and away games

Away team tests before entering, stays at a private isolated location and trains on optus in isolation, plays the game in isolation on optus then flies out.

Low risk to crowd and community.

Only caveat is that WC and Fremantle would have to stay in a relatively isolated lifestyle throughout the season with regular testing. It's the choice between that and not being home for a season

Sorry to say gang but I get the feeling opportunities to see Freo at home will be few and far between this year.

I think the safest option would be to have a hub here.

Very low covid numbers and risk.

They have got to be considering it.
lmao imagine Cerra asks for a trade home to Carlton only to be stuck in WA for another season

Zeeeeeero chance the AFL will deal with the admin of hubs just to give WA clubs some early home games. $1.01 odds that Fremantle and West Coast re-locate to an eastern state of their choice until McGowan opens the borders. My money is on Gold Coast and choosing Metricon as a home ground, much like the Scorchers have done for Marvel.

Hi any one thinks it will be better of we play in docklands all our games? We did lose most of our away games last year but our success rate in home rain affected matches is worse than our away success rate.. and after 3 or 4 games at docklands we may get used to the ground. And no need to travel as well. Any thought?
