The analysis here is somewhat biased against Melbourne, if you want to say 'fell in vs Gold Coast' then it's exactly what Port did against Sydney (lost 2 KPD and Florent miss), Bulldogs (had to sub Lycett off to get momentum) and Essendon (Phillips failing to make the distance to tie). Other than that, the only comparable win was against St. Kilda where they had the run of play after 1/4 time and they beat up on NM and WCE.

Sydney, Bulldogs and Essendon are all better teams than Gold Coast
