In terms of pure mids, it bats as deep as I've seen in my 22 years of scouting
Moraes in particular could be top echelon. Definitely forgot him.

True but it’s amazing how small most of them are. There is a glut of 180cm +/- mids, no Patty Cripps in next years lot.
Ben was not BOG in that game, lucky to be top 5. That was a political or feel good award. With any sons of, if their surname was Smith would they get rated as highly? I don’t think so.

Probably doesn't help that both played sanfl under 18s all year and didn't play at the national carnival. Nobody outside of SA really pays much attention to that competition.
The bottom age guys who are playing NAB league get more exposure, particularily those also playing at the championships.
That one futures game is pretty much the only notable game either of the campo twins played in even if they did equip themselves well.
Anyway I wouldn't take anyones rankings to heart. It's guess work at this stage outside of that top 3-5. Alot of guys being spoken about on this thread won't even get drafted.
Not sure what game you were watching but he was clearly top 5. I don't think there was a standout as everyone was getting rotated around alot. The surname probably didn't hurt in getting him over the line but as arguably the best player in the winning team I wouldn't say he was undeserving.
Did you actually watch it? Don’t let your club bias dictate your opinions. Was not an absolute stand out, but clearly in the mix, and deserving of the recognition.

Yes he is, but he still plays as a ruckman 90% of the time.
The other ones are Nathan Jenson and Brad McDonald. Both I don't think get picked up this year, but would be good shouts as over agers next year.
Nancarrows verticle and running jumps are impressive, watching games, I wonder what his combine results are?

I don't see him being anywhere near athletic enough to play mid at AFL level. Have seen him play for years and whilst not wanting to fat shame him, he is getting bigger and bigger and not in the way you would want an athlete to get bigger.
Yep watched the whole game as knew a few kids playing. It certainly wasn't my club bias affecting my opinion, I just don't think he was that good on the day. As I wrote earlier if his name wasn't Camporeale I don't think he would be getting much recognition.
Any word on the 2024 academy intake? Apparently it's been announced as there was an article in WA about only 2 players from the state getting selected. Haven't seen anything else though.

The names I heard were the usual suspects. If it’s correct there is one ridiculous omission, a guy that will end up going top 10. Wait and see

Thanks for the info. Will be interesting to see once it's released. Curious to see if either of the camporeale boys made the cut.
Who is the best ruck in next years draft? Or are they usually later known (maybe mid next year)?
