Sooo…Geelong are openly rorting the soft cap?

Personally if i wanted finance, i'd be sceptical about a smallish company that invested in AFL advertising and gave bogus jobs to football coaches.
I'd rather have lower interest rates.

Other clubs need to press the AFL on what grounds this is appropriate. Nothing short of a disgrace.

And while they’re at it. Review every regional property purchased made by Geelong players and staff. Who sold it and have it independently appraised as whether they paid anywhere near market rate. Wouldn’t be that difficult to verify based on public records.

Only a privately run company ( IE ,VISY, Cotton-On , Morris Finance ) is able to unjustifiably throw money at a football club.
Most organisations answer to shareholders or overseas managment.
Throwing money at football clubs would simply not be tolerated.

The AFL pander to the richer and more sucessful clubs, they wouldnt ask questions as they have that many skeletons themselves it would blow up in their faces. Ive said it before but I think professional sport in Australia needs a government oversight body to keep the bastards honest. Just imagine if there was an investigative body that could audit and hold these leagues and competitions to account. Just imagine the political push back it would hilarious, but just dreaming really....

To be fair, AFL coach is well known to be a part-time role which only takes 100-120 hours per week, so I understand why Scott would be bored in the other 40 or so hours.

Its a finance company.
Scott obviously has the qualifications for the Job.

Can't think why people haven't equated Sports performance with corporate performance before.

Surely Anthony Mundine should have made Prime-Minister, he could have "actually" shirt fronted Putin.

Can anybody explain to me the appeal of the whole dressing up thing?

I get it, I’m old by comparison to the players, but seriously it seems so juvenile.

It’s just a costume. Something worn for a laugh. It hurts nobody, nobody is actually offended.
But then there’s the people who like to act offended, the ones who are a blight on society.

Dressing up is silly, that’s the point of it. Does his costume really bother you?

Also was at a function where he had a mask on, generally in a place where unless it's like religious instance or you know "I do this for these specific approved reasons to have face coverings" he also wore it inside. Removed it after a "short period" so just seems a nothing story that got picked up cause someone else noticed and decided, why not.

So you think his choice of costume after what had just gone down with the Giants was a smart move? I'd be much happier if I never saw or heard anything of the social lives of anyone involved in football, but I would say that I think he made a somewhat idiotic decision that reflects poorly on himself and yes, makes him look a little um, stupid. If you can't see that he made a poor decision I guess we'll leave it there and good luck to you.

It's just a costume, nothing more. It's neither a smart choice, or a dumb choice. The AFL are only acting on it, because people like you make a big deal out of things like this.
