Pretty sure we would to give away something of significant value to trade up to get one of Duursma or Watson.Time will tell and it won't be for want of trying

I'd be throwing the lot at caddy if we are playing fantasy drafts.Pretty sure we would to give away something of significant value to trade up to get one of Duursma or Watson.
However many 'pieces' we may need, AFL 'puzzles' are completed partly by planning and partly by luck. At any rate, it's a process; I doubt a mad scramble for players who merely approximate our needs will work. The players still need to be capable of being better than their opposition as individuals as well as part of a game plan. The draft system is all pervasive these days and you have to use it to your advantage. Nothing falls neatly into place because the competition is not static and the opposition is capable of improving just as much as we are. With the scent and emotion of premiership success lingering in the air, now is the time to approach players that fit our need and appeal to their basic drive, and sell the dream of joining a genuine contender and compete for potential imminent long term success (and the different rewards that come with that). We don’t need many pieces to complete the puzzle….
Surely it's realistic that we're looking for opportunities to move up as per Soapy's post.Well let's wait for Harley Reid then
A little realism would be handy
Would caddy be gone too by our pick?Neither Watson or Duursma will be available at our pick
Hollands. I haven't seen enough of him. Another tall big bodied mid is not what we need but is that a good description of him? If he's a two way runner and he can go forward and he plays at a high enough level he probably pushes out one of our existing big bodied mids. Leg speed and agility is not the only issue on the inside for us, it's also two way run. He might give us that and a forward target.
You mean we can’t spit it into two 8s?!?!?Won't be better than 16 and neither of those boys will drift that far

owies is a sneak...knows where to be at crucial moments and he also applies good pressure. A good role player.Durdin& Owies don’t exactly send shivers through the oppo.
Love Kempy but we overlooked Cody Weightman & Kozzy Pickett in that draft when SOS decicded to slide back…
What they would add to our forward line complimenting our two big boys…
Elijah has a 5:54 2km TT under his belt with about 8kg more body weight than Ollie had when he did his 2km at the draft combine in the same time. They are both elite runners, and I mean Blicavs, Ed Curnow level elite runners.Elijah Hollands is a bigger body but he has very good foot skills and importantly an eye for a goal. Not sure about his 2-way running capacity however. That said his upside looks very enticing especially when coupled with the likelihood he could come cheaply (at least in comparison to his high initial draft cost. The concern however is that he hasn’t really shown that he is AFL quality yet so there is a chance he could be a complete bust. Provided the cost to acquire him isn’t off the charts I reckon it’s a calculated risk worth taking.
That said as a few have also mentioned it is a pretty thin market for out of contract players so it might make sense to give the list a chance to make the necessary improvement to take the next step. I reckon adding Williams, getting Gov, Martin, Marchbank, Cunners on the park for at least 75% of the season, a better goalkicking season from Harry and natural improvement from TDK, Hollands and Mots might be enough. If the improvement doesn’t come then we can get active next off season when some bigger names hit the market.

Agree. Can play a little elusively so could be a good option up front and in the middle with his good agility.I’d like to see Zac Williams in this role 70/30 split forward and midfield
Williams. Just play him in that roll across half forward next year.
He said roll not loaf
Lots of possibilities, but unless we give up a future 1st and one of those boys is still there at say pick 10, then it isn't realistic at all

Neither Watson or Duursma will be available at our pick

I’ll probably have to eat my hat but, I see Watson sliding.
I still see his height sliding him a little
sos finally getting him after bidding on him at bluesHenry chose St Kilda not Hawthorn
