I’d try Silvagni back there. Behind the ball coming off a knee, 194cm and definitely smart and tough enough to adapt quickly to a changed role.

Meh, he’s at least as quick as May and tougher than Lever.

Not many are that athletically gifted.

Nah. Was just younger and not ready. Much like Kemp as a forward

Yep. Jacks a smart player. Bigger and stronger than people think. Won’t get outmarked. A lot quicker than Weitering

I reckon his combination with Weitering would be awesome. Certainly wouldn’t let us down with defensive effort

Yep, remind me… how much taller than Luke Jackson and how much stronger or more athletic?

Bloke will make up for any perceived physical disadvantages with grit, just like he did as a second ruck for big chunks of the last two seasons.

I reckon if Jack was given a pre season to train in defence he’d thrive

With Kemp O’Keefe Lemmey McKay on list that can play KPF/2nd ruck, Jack going back solves a lot of issues and helps balance our list

This is right. Silvagni doesn't get bodied off the ball. Holds his ground so well.

I’d love to see a defence built around Weitering Silvagni & McGovern or Haynes (Young is back up) with Boyd Saad Hollands Cincotta Cowan Wilson and maybe Houston providing the running options

Means we can really focus on midfield run and X factor this off season

So everyone jumping up down with us being erroneously linked to him should cool their jets.

I haven’t even heard him being linked to us. The only club I’ve heard him linked to is Collingwood.

From all the noise surrounding Petracca you suspect there's a decent chance he moves. We would be amongst the top couple of clubs as far as choice goes. In contention with 80k crowds. If we made the decision to chase him theres a good chance we could land him. What I like about him for our list is he ticks 2 of our 3 biggest needs. The power medium goal kicking forward and the explosive mid with good delivery. He's worth flipping some figures around with our salary cap. Good advantage over the Pies with our first this year intact.

• Key defender who can play in 2025 highest priority (not draftee). A body-on-body defender, not an intercept defender.
• Would like Houston but deal / salary cap would be difficult. Knows Vossy/JSoS well so maybe.
• Petracca turns 29 so no player swap with a young pedigree player (Cerra). Don't know how the club meets salary requirements plus pick requirements. I'm indifferent to Petracca due to the cost
• Other than that hit the draft.
• Accept that we have to move on the perennially injured brigade.

• Swap JSoS and Kemp in terms of roles
