Good effort but if North do take Howes with #1

I would rather Pike & Scaife with Richmonds picks
Naismith with a career ending knee and Richmond desperat need for a KPF

* No idea who cooper is but i doubt we draft a 8 year old kid
Yer Port probably don't take a ruck so Pike could be available. Scaife I've got at your second pick.
Cooper used to be with Richmond VFL. Now Werribee

Cooper, one of the quickest players at Werribee, played in the state game against the SANFL.

“If any AFL clubs are looking for a key defender, he defends as well as anyone going around,’’ Bees coach Jimmy Allan said of Cooper, a former Sydney Swans reserve player.

‘’He’d be ready to go straight away. Defends like his life depends on it.’’

Appreciate you putting a list together but from a Port perspective we will never be going for another ruck (Joe Pike).
We are good in that department.
Most likely we'll being drafting a small to medium defender or a forward
Good attempt at putting out a list its never easy.
Yep agree. Nyko or Philactides could fit that positional need. Both going well at VFL.

As for North we have so many holes and little depth. Surely it’s gotta be a KP type. Still spewin we skipped on Ethan Phillips.

Yea but I feel this is where you guys have everything to gain and nothing to lose in this MSD.
It's basically lotto like how you guys got Larkey at pick 73 its all about luck and having a good player development program.

100% but Larkey was an outlier. He was overlooked by every club.

A 194cm, 83Kg 8 year old kid!

I'd agree that's not draftable, but damn you'd want to keep an eye on him.

AFL Mid-Season Draft 2024: Peel Thunder defender Jacob Blight enhances prospects with star outing for WA

Peel Thunder defender Jacob Blight has sent a timely reminder that he can stand up on the big stage with a stellar performance on his Western Australian debut.

Blight is touted as one of the top prospects in the mid-season draft in a little under a fortnight as clubs chase ready-made defenders.

The 196cm defender was one of the few shining lights for WA in the 63-point defeat at the hands of South Australia, starring in an under siege defence.

Blight took a game-high 13 marks including several intercept marks as he held up well despite the enormous pressure, to go with 17 disposals.

It would have impressed AFL recruiters, who would have wanted to see how Blight went against some of the best in South Australia.

East Fremantle ruckman Brynn Teakle was also a strong performer as he looks for a second chance in the AFL.

Teakle, who played for six games for Port Adelaide, performed strongly against much-bigger Amos Doyle from the Croweaters.

The big Shark had 16 hit-outs as the main ruckman for WA, but it was his work around the ground that of note, finishing with 20 disposals, three clearances and five inside 50s.

Teakle’s East Fremantle teammate Milan Murdock should have gained the attention of several AFL recruiters.

Can think of 22 SA players who caught the eye before any WA player on Sunday, MSD wise....but yeah Blight definitely put his name under the MSD spotlight. WA got completely thrashed by SA sadly. Considering Amos is younger and bigger then Teakle, surely would be more of a MSD pick development wise out of the two big men. Can't fault Murdock's courage and commitment to the cause, plays like that week in week out for his WAFL club East Fremantle.

That review of Teakle is inaccurate. He played a horrible game. Doyle won easily.

Doyle’s build is not really AFL. A bit like Crossley.

It is making me wonder what happens if a club is short of players.

As it stands, if Richmond named a team at this moment (Sunday evening), at least some of their emergencies wouldn't actually be available.

Having said that, 4 players 'should' be back this week, but that's how tight things are getting.

A bad run with injuries this week and the mid season draftees from Wednesday could be required to play on the Saturday just to make up the numbers.
Essendon circa 2009 named an injured player as our third emergency such was the extent of our injuries that year

I wonder what the odds are with players getting picked up without having a medical?
