Dom looking thiccc too, he’s put on a ridiculous amount of size since he was drafted as an absolute twig. He’s gonna be a pretty big unit too.
Just got to hope his injury issues are behind him. He's one of a few we've had on the list over the last few years who could probably have been best 22 if not for persistent injuries (him, Garcia, Roarke, Gallagher and Arty all probably should have had more games than they did)

Oh, Dom. You enigmatic bastard.

Interesting that Busslinger finished 20th overall and just behind JUH.

A good result for a guy who couldn't run out of sight on a foggy night last pre-season.

Wow Darcy looks massive. Hope he has overcome all his injury woes and has a great season. I think he is still eligible for Rising Star?

Josh Dunkley likes this post.

I always thought that Dunkleys running claims were just an easy throw away thing to say when asked the obvious question.

Q: "So Josh, what's the difference between the two clubs?"

A: "Errrr....da running."

As Ive mentioned many times. I went to a training session last year and the entire squad was in constant motion. Individual groups would do repeat stints as they worked from one end got the ground to another. Where a waiting line coaches would put them through one drill or another.

Capturing somebody in motion with a long lens using a high shutter speed will always do this.

Its an illusion.

But an exciting one.

Though that said there are parts of his frame (I thinking his neck) that do look thicker now. He's building. Maybe not suddenly and dramatically but the differences are starting to show.

Yes I think he is.
Fewer than 10 games (he has played 7) and under 21 years of age as at 1 January (he turns 21 in July).

But you just know some precocious midfield prodigy will win it.
If not Harley Reid or Colby McKercher we can only hope it's Ryley Sanders ... or whoever we end up drafting.

Always interesting to see who puts in the work behind closed doors and out of the spotlight.

Cody’s been overseas for the better part of the last 6 weeks but has come back looking in ripping shape with a 2nd place in the time trial.
All that surfing in Indonesia

About time they changed the rules. Midfielders win brownlows and key position talls win rising stars ;)

Darcy is going to be an absolute monster unit at his peak playing weight in a few years time. Cannot stress enough how unplayable he’s gonna be.

Yeah his height already makes him hard to play against but his lack of muscle mass means that he can still get push out of it, bulking up and getting closer to that peak playing weight is going to make him an incredibly difficult ask to play against.

I feel I should attend training with my easel and brushes, to capture the true essence of the young man on canvas, then compare it to the photo to which you refer.

I have some other portraits I have done of players over the years - I'm particularly fond of the ones juxtaposed with various Liberace outfits. I tried gifting them to the club, along with my take of EJ Snr dressed as Cher - but they were politely declined. I say politely - "f*** off mate, that just looks like sh1t" was one of the briefer assessments. (Did I mention I don't use paint, only vegemite, Milo powder and a range of jams?)

Not sure if this is serious or not but a long lens will compress the background and make objects appear bigger by bringing them closer but foreground objects generally remain the same. Those muscles are real I tell you haha

I think we need a BF expedition to training, with a designated spokesperson to ask young Mr Darcy if he would oil his muscles then parade in front of the BF hoi-polloi for verification. Possibly just a few poses also, so we eliminate the motion issue referred to by Mr De Guerre.
(I'd volunteer to speak, but have a minor obstacle in the form of restraining orders - from all of the playing list, administration, cafe staff, medical staff, on-site tradies, Maribyrnong council staff, AFL staff, Metro staff at West Footscray station, several restauarants and cafes in Barkly St, and a few retail outlets at Highpoint. :innocent:)

You could always include Pricasso and make it a members only Art exhibition. On tour at the moment and won't knick your brushes.

Reading on X apparently Bedendo was injured at training.
Bryan Cranston Reaction GIF

From the report on Woof Bedendo injury doesn’t sound great, innocuous lower leg injury and he ended on crutches.

Poor kid just can’t catch a break, absolutely bloody spewing

Fingers crossed it’s just a scare

We’ve got a coach now who stayed on an AFL list through 5 ACLs or something (sure he may have been a premiership player). If Dom has the right attitude he’ll have people in his corner. The fact he came back and won the time trial is a good sign.

Yeah no doubt, I’m happy to use a list spot on an injury prone player so long as they’ve got a lot of talent. Plenty of success stories in the past, I mean there’s plenty here who would have canned Wood if they had their way and he’s a premiership captain now. There’s been a lot worse than him - but yeah 2nd day back after missing the whole season last year. That hurts
