I expect they will play Ladhams forward. Occasionally rucking. That will be his role in the ones I imagine. If he gets a gig. Gives ruck time to our two developing promising rucks. I think Mclean is the one player that will keep him out of the ones. McLean is such .......I have no words to describe how amazed I am about how hard he has tried and far exceeeded (I included an extra e) my estimations of his ability to constantly deliver on game day. Makes you proud to be a Swans supporter when players of seemingly limited ability continue to make your expectations look dumb and they go out and play so well.
Exactly. Ladhams will need the match fitness so maybe a roaming role around CHF with ruck cut-out duties. Stretch 3 quarters as first ruck and Will later in the game or against the second ruck.

We potentially have Green, McAndrew, Ladhams, Buller, Reid / Amartey to squeeze into the ruck / key forward positions. What it does is it makes us too slow and disrupts our structure. This flows on to the rest of the team, making it hard for them to gain any fluency. We saw this happen last year when we had all rucks available.
Given there were times last year when we barely had anyone over six foot in either our AFL or VFL sides, I’m not going to lose any sleep over the possibility of our VFL side being a tad cumbersome if we happen to have most of them fit at the same time.
I take your point. To expand on mine, if all talls are available and we are obliged to play them all across AFL / VFL for the bulk of the season, it will stymie the development of other players. But you're correct in that we have had alot of injuries amongst our talls so can understand why the club has loaded up on the tall timber.
Also supposedly the 2024 draft is good for mids. Sure, we've heard that before! But my tip is we'll lose 2KPD's and rebalance. In the meantime use the VFL players and % TOG to keep things rolling.
Yep. I looked on RookieMeCentral and I think 14 of the top 20 draft picks were mids. Some more are hybrids too. It is a this stage Mid heavy.

Good. This is for good reason. All of our KPD stocks have question marks over reliability/fitness or quality. Similar with the 2 rucks that would be backup if Grundy went down. Similar for the forward line, where we have 2 mostly reliable (in terms of fitness) KPFs, 1 who struggles with playing out games or getting runs of games, 1 who has played 1 game, and Reid who may not even play / won't be around in a year.
He definitely over delivered on exposed form coming into 2023 I reckon, pleasantly surprised and he looks to be our actual number 1 forward ahead of McDonald.
I think McLean, Amartey and McDonald are complementary. Buller too, come to that.
I haven't seen any of Buller beyond that one game so will take your word for it.
