James Van Es being put on the long term injury list means we might be shaping up to give Dalyrmple an early taste of draft action in the mid-season!

You're measuring that by goals kicked?

No observation. He looked much less effective as a second ruck. Once he went solo again he dominated. He was just a player with Paddy there.

Would be happy if we just go best available rather than top up on a need that we may no longer need this year and can address with higher prob guys at year end. Feels like sometimes with the MSD it’s better to go off broadway rather than guys that have been seen and watched for a few years.

I agree. I'm really hopeful that Dalrymple has got someone lined up and ready to go, and we can all get some insight into what he brings to the list management team.

SOS and his love for Carlton players. This is crazy. Just keep Battle and get us some mids.

Next season 2 midfielders with experience and a off contract
B.Smith / Dogs
McCluggage / Lions

I would offering them the big money contract or find another who wants to leave there current club they are at - there are always a few that want out

Yep, you just build cliff to fall off if you get rid of all the mid career talent. We are in a constant deficit due to losing spots in multiple drafts to top up with mid career players that didn't work out already.

Parker, Young, Hind, Long, Hunter, Campbell, Weller, Marsh, McKernan, Hanners, Freeman, Rowe, Hill, Howard, Butler, Higgins, Ryder, Jones etc.

Wood, Marshall and Wilkie the success stories. The rest were desperate attempts to hide the daft disasters that we'd already had.

When you look at the Dogs in comparison, they make a lot fewer mistakes and find and develop talent to a much higher standard despite having a similar small club budget.
Re dogs . Take the FS s and the BS academy rules out of the equation and the story is completely different. Bont and naughtan were obviously master strokes . Their path has nt been linear even with all that help.

Just a reminder that info like that is "leaked" by player managers who are trying to drive up prices for player re-contracting and he is a UFA at the end of next year and wants a pay day re-signing.

He aint moving clubs and we aint paying 1.5 for him lol.
Last week he said on radio that the Carlton players had a 'pact' to take unders to stay so this is his manager in damage control saying his value is 1.5mil so unders for him is 1.2mil.
