Canberra United 1 - Central Coast Mariners 1

Sasha Grove the Canberra left back sneaks in a run centrally and clips it pass the keeper levelling for Canberra in the 90th minute converting a low cross that rolled through the penalty box without being defended. Looked like Grove moved to playing a little more wing after some subs were made before the 2nd lightning break.

5 minutes of added time to play, but no addition to the score at Full time. Game started at 5pm EST and Finished after 9.10pm EST with the 2 breaks for lightning.

Perth Glory 1 - Adelaide United 0 at half time at the Sam Kerr Football Centre.

From a cross into the box Rola Badawiya pounced on a loose ball in the box after jumping for the header and has put Perth Glory ahead from close range.

There's been some dogged defending from Perth in a scrappy kind of game so far. Adelaide have put more ball into their attacking half but haven't really had any major chances to finish. Perth are missing their 2 regular starting defenders - Onyinyechi Zogg and Naomi Chinnama and are playing Tijan McKenna at Centre back. Adelaide United missing striker Fiona Worts plus a couple of other injured players.

Victory open the scoring after City had just mounted several close to scoring long range shots and created a near chance 1 vs 1 with the keeper.

A clever pass from Alan Jancevski and Rhianna Pollicina against her former side got into space in the box threading a goal near post from a tight angle. Pollicina's 5th goal of the season after shifting clubs for more starting game time.

Good Melbourne derby so far, even though the evenness of the teams is resulting in cagey battles rather than heaps of shot at goals.

HALF TIME: Melbourne City 0 - Melbourne Victory 1.

Melbourne City 1 - Melbourne Victory 1 65 minutes.

City's Aideen Keane with a run down the sideline then angled run inwards took the ball very, very close to the end line before pulling it back and Victory's Kiwi CB Claudia Bunge got a boot there to clear it away but only skewed it into the net for an own goal.

84 min Melbourne City 2 - Melbourne Victory 1

Set piece free kick after a foul against Rachel Lowe on Leah Davidson. Leticia McKenna's along the ground pass used Holly McNamara's speed to get there first and shoot, which she did with aplomb with her left foot, having previously missed a great chance shooting over the bar shortly after City had scored their first goal.

FULL TIME 7 minutes of added time.

Melbourne City 2 - Melbourne Victory 1

Come from behind win to Melbourne City jumps them up the table from 9th to 3rd and still with games in hand over the Top 2 - one of those teams being Melbourne Victory who have now lost their 4th game of the season in 9 games. Only 1 shot on target from Melbourne City for the game (the other goal coming from the own goal).

Peta Trimis for Central Coast Mariners vs Melbourne Victory

3 goal leads in the two games coming to the end.

Central Coast Mariners 3 - Melbourne Victory 0

Adelaide United 5 - Western Sydney Wanderers 2

Good effort from young CCM striker Annalise Rasmussen against Victory who have two of the stronger centre backs in the league, scoring 2 more goals today before being one of the subbed players at 80min.

Starting in the past 5 games having previously been used as a substitute player for CCM, Rasmussen now has 5 goals from her last 4 games, which puts her in equal 2nd spot in the golden boot race.

Two stoppage time goals to Melbourne Victory is making for an exciting finish with about 3 minutes still to go.

3-2 Central Coast vs Melbourne Victory

Now it's 3-3 all of a sudden. Goals from Rhianna Pollicina, Sofia Sakalis and Ella O'Grady in added time - and with a minute or so left, an injury to Mariners has them down to 10 players, having emptied their bench and managing some players when 3-0 up.

Adelaide United 5 - Western Sydney Wanderers 2

Final Saturday game Newcastle Jets 0 - Canberra United 1 in stoppage time.

93 min Canberra United substitute Sienna Dale has chipped it over the Jets keeper after a very clever flick on assist from Mary Stanic-Floody. Canberra had been pushing and some good goalkeeping from Anna Leat (9 saves) had kept Canberra at bay until that breakthrough.

Result Newcastle Jets 0 - Canberra United 1

Canberra 6 games undefeated go to the top of the table on 17 pts from 9 games.

23 min Melbourne City 1 - Perth Glory 0. Holly McNamara with pace gets to the ball quicker than 2 Glory defenders after the goalkick into the opposition half was rebounded back - a pass from Leah Davidson giving McNamara the chance to run onto the ball and beat the keeper. Perth Glory as the underdogs in this game had been playing quite well creating some forward opportunities with a high press.

Right on the cusp of half-time. 48th min Perth Glory have coughed the ball up defensively. Nigerian International Chinaza Uchendu pressuring Tijan McKenna who lost possession and Holly McNamara on the end of it had an easy finish slotting it wide of the goalkeeper for her 2nd goal of the match and 6th for the season.

Melbourne City 2 - Perth Glory 0

50th min Melbourne City 2 - Perth Glory 1.

Perth Glory get one back early in the 2nd half. Good combo between Georgia Cassidy and Grace Johnston, a lofted pass forward which the pacy Johnston got to just before it crossed the line and sent it across the goalmouth where Bronte Trew had a simple tap in.

Melbourne City 3 - Perth Glory 1

71st minute. Hattrick goal to Holly McNamara, this one with a greater degree of difficulty than the other 2. The striker having to split two defenders with her run then use a deft flick to get it over the Glory goalkeeper. Again the combo of Leah Davidson and Holly McNamara.

Couple of Round 10 games tonight and tomorrow. (As always free to watch on 10plus)

Tuesday December 30 Western Sydney Wanderers vs Wellington Phoenix 7pm AEST Wanderers Football Park

Wednesday December 31 Central Coast Mariners vs Brisbane Roar 4:15pm AEST Polytec Stadium, Gosford

0-1 after 7min Wellington opening scoring away from home. Samba (who brings a big crowd with her) sending a ball across the penalty box towards the goalmouth and Emma Main sticks a left boot on it and redirects it past the Wanderers keeper.

40 min. Diving save from WSW GK Sham Khamis to turn the ball around the post as Wellington had a set piece just a little outside the box that Grace Jale hit low around the wall

43 min Ball in the back of the net from Samba but ruled offside.

3 min into the 2nd half and Samba scores after some terrific attacking play from 17yo Pia Vlok who took a couple of Wanderers players on in midfield with a zig zag run and then a good cross into the box from Brooke Nunn. Wanderers coulda-shoulda but didn't clear it and the spill gave Samba a crack at goal that Sham Khamis couldn't get down low to stop before it steamed passed her.

47 min Western Sydney Wanderers 0 - Wellington Phoenix 2

51 min. Now a 3rd for Wellington from a quick transfer from defence. The pace of Samba a factor passing it over to Emma Main to tap in past the goal keeper.

Western Sydney Wanderers 0 - Wellington Phoenix 3

58min Huge chance for Wanderers to get one back with defender Emma Buchanan receiving a cross on her own inside the box and volleying the ball out of mid air but wide of the post.

Full time

Western Sydney Wanderers 0 - Wellington Phoenix 3.

10 goals and clean sheets in their last 2 games for Wellington following up their 7-0 win over Sydney. They move to 4th on the ladder with another away game against the Brisbane Roar on Sunday.

The crowd for Samba made it seem like an away crowd for Western Sydney Wanderers. Samba the player of the match, but good performances from Brooke Nunn, Emma Main and the exciting Pia Vlok who looks like a future Kiwi international player.

For Wanderers Chloe Berryhill (Logarzo) still hoping for a Matildas call up before she retires at the end of seasons played the full 90 for the 1st time since arriving back in Australia from Italy. Not sure she'll make it, seems a bit of a long shot although she looked pretty sharp early with speed and recovery but tired towards the end. Wanderers have to back up again at home on Saturday vs Canberra (a Bottom vs Top clash).
