Wish the bastards would give Duursma some midfield time.
Game was a hard watch in massive sideways wind. Sharky still had most disposals and best efficiency on the ground off half back. Kangas could do worse as he seems a playmaker? He's been racking up the disposals for sure. I need to go deeper on his disposal before I can be confident in him. For that role disposal and decision making are so important.

Or ?? Because I know an old joke that means I don't have friends ...if everyone had friends then no one would be on this forumyou struggle having friends or?
Also at least once a year, someone (usually _RT_ ) has to suggest we trade for Brodie because stats.BigFooty rules:
If you want to talk up an inside mid use Cripps, Bont and Pendlebury comparisons.
If you want to talk down an inside mid use Brodie, Setterfield and RCD comparisons.
They're either a spud or generational. There are no in betweens.
Another strong Champs game from Willem who seems to be a permanent fixture now as a tall defender. He was matched up on Noah Chamberlain for much of the game and kept him quiet, while also intercepting a number of balls and dashing off his man with incisive moments of play. His kicking was still inconsistent as always, but the extra time and space he gets in this defensive role helps with his efficiency.
Don't worry, the Erasmus/Tsatas era is almost upon us.Just glad the Narkle and Cerra days are behind us.
Haven't mentioned anything about going after Brodie in a good 4 years, when he was a low risk pick up as the Suns looked to offload his contract. Now there are some similar value options out there that could prove to be useful pick ups in a similar way to Grigg and Houli were all those years ago, but it seems that unless players are a Harley Reid Zac Butters Errol Gulden type some posters just aren't interested in looking at them. Also at least once a year, someone (usually _RT_ ) has to suggest we trade for Brodie because stats.
A lot of the better prospects in this pool seem like they’ll be a bit of a slow burn… but our midfield is so cooked and needs immediate help imo. We should be looking at low cost, steady impact types to come in and hold stead for a few years at least. Taranto and Hopper can’t do it all themselves.
What about Will Brodie?
This was a decent outing for Grlj but we're still waiting for that real breakout Champs performance that we expect from a kid with his talent. He was able to showcase his trademark dash and evasion on a few occasions, but struggled with the strong wind as most did on the day.
A note for the commentators. A little bit of professionalism would be nice. This is the pinnacle of junior footy. Many of these kids will go on to become stars of the AFL but regardless of that, all have earned the right to have you put in a little bit of effort to research how their names are pronounced... and pro tip, Grlj is not pronounced "Groo" or any of the other wild guesses you made. If a job is worth doing then its worth doing well.

me when thrillem takes on the kick-in responsibilities and delivers some terrific flat, long passes to breach the Allies’ zone

there was 1 weekend where both games were at marvel and that's the only time the ground was used and will be usedSeems like quite a few of this year’s U18 National games have been played under windy or wet conditions, which is understandable being winter , but would like to see more games at Marvel.
At least then you get a decent look at the talls, and the quick / skilled kids like Grlj.
Remember last year’s game, at Marvel Harry Armstrong took some great grabs, that you wouldn’t have seen on suburban venues.
Counter argument is that they have to play in all types of conditions through a season, but they can do that back at Coates league . Make the Nationals a showcase, where kicking/marking/ running skills are on display.
Stop this makes too much sense, let's just focus on starting up an in season tournament that everyone will hate.Seems like quite a few of this year’s U18 National games have been played under windy or wet conditions, which is understandable being winter , but would like to see more games at Marvel.
