Leray would be great at this pick
Another solid option. He's basically X.Taylor light. Doesn't have the great athleticism but has great versitility, skills and workrate.

Should try to get this guy somehow. ...

Isaac Waller
State: Queensland
State League Club: Brisbane Lions Academy
Community Club: Maroochydore
Date of Birth: 30/03/2007
Height: 204cm

A developing ruck and key position player, Waller possesses enormous upside given his athletic profile. While still very raw, he is strong overhead and has shown good ruck craft to give his midfielders first use of the ball. Displayed plenty of his natural talent across seven games for the Brisbane Lions Academy this year, averaging 10 disposals, 2.5 marks and 17.5 hitouts. Also got a feel for the next level by playing a VFL game for the Lions. At representative level he played all four National Championships matches for the Allies, competing aggressively and averaging 12.5 hitouts and 6.5 disposals. Waller has excellent bloodlines, being the grandson of former South Melbourne star Peter Morrison.

What could go wrong picking a ruckman from the Brisbane Lions academy..

This guy reads well as well.

Taj Murray
State: Northern Territory
State League Club: Northern Territory Academy/North Adelaide
Community Club: Nightcliff
Date of Birth: 05/02/2007
Height: 201cm

An athletic ruckman, Murray covers the ground extremely well and competes fiercely. He was a standout player for the Northern Territory at the U16 National Championships in 2023, averaging 13 disposals, seven contested possessions, four tackles and 16 hitouts to win his side’s MVP award and earn All Australian honours. Murray relocated to South Australia last year and split his commitments between North Adelaide, the Northern Territory Academy and the Allies, while also playing school football. Murray starred for the Northern Territory Academy in three matches in the Coates Talent League, averaging 11.7 disposals, 4.7 marks, 3.7 tackles and 22.7 hitouts to win the Hunter Harrison Medal as the best player from Queensland, NT, NSW-ACT and Tasmania in the lead up to Allies selection. Began the National Championships in outstanding form and was among the Allies’ best with four goals,11 disposals and 15 hitouts in the narrow loss to South Australia in the opening game. Unfortunately illness interfered with his ability to further impact the Championships.

I was all in for CDT if he becomes available because of our need for a ruckman, but after reading some the developing ruckman out there like Walker as you mentioned, and Krasnadamskis as a few have mentioned, maybe we could grab our two mids and then a ruckman.

Yep agree.

There's a few, including as you say Krasnadamskis who is also an intriguing prospect.

Krasnadamskis may be gone by 38, so we could trade back for two lower picks, get a project ruckman and also the pick we need for Kellaway.
We already have the pick for Kellaway. He's free from 37 onwards.

Sort of free, picks 37-54 still require points to match, not many points but we can match with any pick left over, ie: pick 81, just end up a little in deficit.

That's just my understanding, could be wrong, have been wrong twice before (just ask the ex wives)

There will be a new framework implemented from next year that aims to restore fair value. The new DVI will see points allocated up until the end of the third round. This means that clubs won’t be able to stockpile a range of late picks to gain access to talent bid on early in the draft.

A 10% discount will be applied on all bids from selection 1 to 18 follow by an 84-point deduction for all bids from selection 19 to 36.

Matching a bid in the first round will be matched using equivalent DVI points. To match a bid after the first round, this will be done using equivalent DVI points up to selection 36. Clubs will match with their next selection from pick 37 onwards. There will be no restrictions for Northern Academy clubs based on ladder position.

10% discount on Pick 1-18(Round 1)
84 point discount (19-36)
Just use next pick after 37.

Kellaway is not worth 37. I have seen him 50 in one draft top 50. We have far greater needs than a small inside mid that we would not be going for at 37 but for father son. There will be some good players at that pick you'd think.

Could we trade our 37 for say 45 and 55, pick up Kellaway and one of the project rucks, or just go for Krasnadamskis if he gets there and find another way to get Kellaway.

Our pick looks like coming inside 37 with all the bids being matched. Once we take that pick any bid that comes, even if its 37 we can just use pick 80 to match.
